Came here twice once for lunch and once for dinner. For dinner you must walk up the slope for about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. As we were coming from Arc 1950 we took the free pedestrian gondola to Arc 2000. As we started our ascent on foot we were offered mulled wine for the trip from two restaurant representatives at a mobile kiosk. Absolutely delightful. Dinner itself was a great experience with a raclette cooked at the table on coals. Served with four types of cheeses and four types of charcuterie. My husband counts it as one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. The experience walking up the ski slope to access the restaurant and seated right by the fireplace was wonderful. Lunch time is a bit more chaotic but we came back for the “chausson”. Lunchtime you c ça an also walk up from Arc 2000 but since the ski lifts are open you can also take a lift further up and ski down to the restaurant. For lunch we arrived about 10 minutes early and were told by a frazzled host to come back later. We killed time with an apéro at the floor below to L’Epicerie which is part of the same franchise but serving meals less formally for a grab-and-ski.

Very nice place on slopes to take rest and recover. We were there 3 times, 2 times for hot vine and cake, once we had lunch. Food is very good and portions are big, I eat a lot so I was very satisfied because usually I stay hungry in 80% places I go to eat. Also hot vine is very nice, tasty and I had a cake named “Crumble de pomme” which was a blast for me, best one I had and all should try it. I eated “Tartiflette” which was also very tasty and nice. Staff is divided, some are nice and polite, some are a bit grumpy and slow, dont see when we call to order (or act they dont because we are not French) but generaly good. We will come again next year!

The food is tasty (typical of the region) and the mood is excellent. We had lunch on a sunny Saturday and there was a person playing saxophone. The music is very nice and the view is amazing. The staff is very nice and the service is efficient. We spent a great family moment. (The place is not accessible by car but could be accessible by walking or skiing as it is on the slopes.)

Overall we had a good week at Chalet de l'Arc, and the overall package was fair value for money compared to other similar ski holidays.||||On the plus side, the food was good, the staff friendly and keen to help, and the chalet is close to the slopes.||||However the previous comments are correct about no facilities to dry out wet clothing, leaving gloves & boots etc still wet the following morning if there's been bad weather the previous day. The ski room is too small with not enough room for everyone's kit, and no boot dryers. The rooms are also pretty dimly lit.||||Additionally, although the staff are friendly and keen to help, they're just a bit disorganised and don't seem to have been given sufficent guidance on what 'good' should look like (or no-one doing any meaningful quality checks). ||||It's a great shame that although there were a number of things with the building that they couldn't change (as above), but also a lot of very simple things that could have been done better that didn't seem to register as being necessary, eg:||* piles of dirty laundry & cleaning equipment in corridors on arrival, even though we were late. It was still there the next day (supposedly due to a 'deep clean' but not sure why it couldn't all go straight in a cupboard?), and more not cleared during the week until it was pointed out. It just felt more like a teenager's bedroom than a holiday accommodation at times.||* tea & coffee area often dirty / not wiped over often enough & was cleaned by guests; tea bags ran out twice during the week; fresh coffee not provided until prompted and coffee machine tripped fuses (still not fixed from similar report from 1st Jan!)||* kitchen bins left open & completely full on the night before the staff day off||* snow drift inside the front door after strong winds had to be cleared by guests on staff day off (not sorted out by person providing breakfast set-out)||* mould spots on bed sheets & pillow cases||* ski passes arrived late on first day and only one piste map provided per group (should be one each).||||To recap, we did have a good week, and the building has its limitations, but the shame is that the most lacking aspects were those that the staff could have most easily...

We had booked a group of 17. All rooms very small, dark, poor lighting and no storage at all, was living out of a suitcase the whole week. Also no facility to dry any clothes, even bath towels could not be dried as no place for this in the room and when asked to have the towels changed was informed it is their policy not to change towels for a whole week imagine living with a damp towel. The worst part was our room when we went in we could smell vomit and then we noticed that yes there was vomit near the side of one of the cupboard with a very weak attempt to have it cleaned. When informed of this we were informed that yes they were aware of this but could not do anything about it. We requested to have a different room but were informed no room was available as the chalet was fully booked. We asked when the other guests would be arriving we were informed the following day, thus we asked if it was possible just for one night to have another room while they cleaned and aired our room and we would return to our room before the next guests would arrive we were refused this. I found this very unacceptable and almost like as if we were this is it take it or leave at attitude. The least helpful person was our representative who once again did nothing about our room situation and i believe her main purpose was to sell us the extra activities, she came to see the room with the vomit but did nothing said she would inform her senior and that was the last we heard about it nothing from there on. Thus we ended up spending the whole week in a room smelling of vomit (disgusting). ||There is no ventilation in the whole of the chalet and once in the dining room all your clothes smell of food.||I think i would never go back to this chalet again and would think many times before even considering booking a holiday with Inghams as i found them least helpful and they made my holiday...
