Au Porte Mages — Restaurant in Arles

One of the worst restaurant experiences in France ever. My wife ordered Cote d agnau (medium) et frites. For € 14 we did not expect a great portion, but what came on the plate were 2!! tiny and fatty pieces of "bones with no meat" and cooked well done as though as old boots. Of course we claimed imidiatly but the patron insisted this is as genuine Cote d agnau should be and he did not offer anything in exchange even if we ordered a full course dinner menue (meaning we did not only pass by for a quick snack). We aborded our dinner at this stage and asked to take this off the invoice, which had been declined by the patron in a very rude way as acusing us not to know what we have ordered. Me being a Chef myself know very well how to prepare such a traditional dish. Such ignorance towards customer claims and only aiming for cashing in on tourists leads to my strongest recommendation to avoid this place when you aim for quality food and being treated as a valued customer. The bull stew was very bitter, the meat was uneatable, the fish was just unfrozen and warmed up before serving and with a very bad taste. We payed +50€, we tried few bites, and we really hope we won’t stay all day in the bathroom. The kids food was eatable: chicken nuggets and fries.
