I have never been treated so badly by hotel staff before. Ever. (Please note that the staff is the same for hotel and restaurant).||In the middle of our first night in the Family Room, the mirror on the bathroom door fell on the floor, loudly shattering broken glass everywhere. I awoke and carefully cleaned the large pieces from the floor while wearing my shoes, warned my wife and daughter and went to sleep, worrying. We could not walk without risk of glass.||In the morning after breakfast, we told the staff and left for the day. We returned to find the floor clean but the rest of the broken mirror, three of the four sections, still on the door. The broken plastic piece (bottom of picture) had been snapped back on. I was shocked and asked to see a manager or the owner.||This was not popular. Madame Braglia was dismissive and angry. She asked me why this was their fault and why they should apologize if no one was hurt. I told her I was also a host and that hosts are responsible for the safety of their guests. They all scorned this and acted as I was the problem. They argued with me and said all I wanted was money, when in fact I was very worried about the safety of my family and me. We decided to leave. After one staff member finally removed the mirror, another one came to our room, argued with my wife and me about our attitude, and attempted to push himself into the room in an aggressive manner.||The only good from this is that our next lodging, a charming and peaceful farmhouse in Provence, was able to let us move in sooner.||Please stay in St Remy if you would like to see Les Baux. Do not even buy coffee here until there is new ownership and staff. They have no business...

Read moreMy wife and I stayed in room 2, the one with the large patio overlooking the valley. It was excellent. The food was also excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is difficult to understand how "Rockriverbob" from Indiana could have had such a poor experience. Our room had an ensuite bathroom with 3 out of originally 4 mirror panels on the back of the door. Presumably the missing one was the one which had broken, but the room was a double, not a family room, so maybe it was a different room. Anyway, our experience was all good. Perhaps the proprietors were apprehensive about "litigious Americans" and unwisely thought attack was the best form of defence. We cannot judge.||Our stay was very pleasant and the hotel was a perfect base from which to visit the Camargue, Glanum and the Ville and Chateau of Les Baux. We also had tickets to see the Lumière show at the Quarry, which was superb and unforgettable. I had wanted to visit Les Baux for many years and it did not disappoint. If you do combine your stay with a visit to one of the Lumière shows (tickets available online) try to take a folding...
