The food was poor. The chicken ceasar was reconstituted nuggets, the burger was a stale bun with hache meat. But in a tourist place like this, you expect that, what you do not expect is ignorant, arrogant and downright rude staff. We are very polite people, having been coming to Provence for 10 years, and treat everybody with respect. From time to time you get a horrid little waiter like the one we had last night who treats you and your family like scum because we're tourists, or perhaps English? The guy purposefully blanked us as long as he could, before finally coming over and just looking at us, no good evening, hello, what would you like. We politely ordered, but his rudeness continued to surpass him for the rest of the evening. France has a stereotyped reputation for this kind of thing, and if it were me...I would want to prove it wrong. We observed him treating others the same way, at times appearing aggressive and threatening. The only person losing and making themselves look silly is him. It was upsetting, yet we remained polite, calm and dignified. The only way to combat this kind of thing is through reviews. The rest of the staff were lovely, and will be aware of how this man behaves. I hope they have the insight to remove him and stop it being spoiled for everybody else. A sad impression leaving a sour taste on St Remy for us. Avoid and find a genuine little place down the back...

Luckily all the out side tables were full as the midday sun was hitting down hard. We were lead to a nice cool, air-conditioned table inside, out of the intense heat.
Our waiter was really friendly, he happily explained the various bits and pieces off the menu. We went with the sea bass and rib eye, both were cooked really well as you may expect. We didn't have any wine, but we did have beer, cold and refreshing.
The atmosphere was very cosy, inviting and a little homely too, the waiter really made us feel welcome and at home. Even though every table was full, the everything was still calm and collected with a nice babble of chat in the air.
We continued on with desserts, I had the very un-French tiramisu, and my wife and sister-in-law shared a French sponge with heaps of rum... like so much rum.
It was a great experience and so I highly recommend a visit. They cater fall all sizes of party from what I could see...
Read moreOrdered a well-done steak, it came out rare. When I asked for it to be cooked a little more (I was actually apologetic that I needed to ask but for health reasons I couldn't eat the steak the way it came out) the waiter changed his attitude from being nice to being unhelpful. When the steak came back and was cooked a little more it was fine (not very tasty). The fries were good. The service was extremely slow.... the slowest service we've ever encountered. Took an age to clear our plates. My husband ordered a beer and coffee which never came. When we got tired of waiting and wanted the bill we couldn't get anybody's attention - it was like they were purposefully ignoring us. It took us over 30 minutes (close to 45 minutes) to get the bill and pay it!! Would not...
