Bottom line: Just unbelievably good pizza with spectacular tiramisu and panna cotta. Ignore the plain exterior, all thought and effort is put into the product. Worth making it a destination.
Details: Until recently I lived in Brooklyn for over 10 years and routinely ate the best pizza around. But the pies at Venoza, no joke, blow them away. It essentially comes down to two components: the crust and the sauce. The crust is a combination of crispy and light that I have never before experienced. If you hold up your piece, even after 10 minutes, it does not bend down at the tip. Yet it is light and airy. The initial crunch gives way to the right texture of crisp and toppings. You'll have to try it to understand but it's just perfect. The sauce is well matched. Not overpowering and provides a stable base for the other flavours. And again it does not eat heavy.
The tiramisu: my problem with tiramisu usually is that one component usually overpowers the rest. This tiramisu is well balanced between all of the flavours. The result is that every bite is exactly the right proportion of each flavour. And the texture is substantial, but still with an appealing lightness.
Lastly: do not let the currently ordinary-appearing surroundings dissuade you. They have absolutely top-quality pizza and desserts that I believe would beat any other around. In my view this is worth a trip to the restaurant wherever you may be in Paris. I hope they expand soon. PS- my four-year-old ate six pieces. I've never seen him eat that...
