Café WHA! — Restaurant in Bastia

I would like to title this review: “THE WORST WAITER IN THE WORLD”. a 6-day holiday in all of Corsica by motorbike, for the second year, the last evening before getting on the ship we decide to eat here, where last year we accidentally met for a dinner, a little romantically we decide to thus close the holiday. we show up at 9.15 pm, we sit down and order shortly after. 30 minutes pass and we still did not have water on the table, I decide to ask the waiter who had taken the order, also making it clear that we had been waiting for both water and food for a long time, he brings us water, another 20 passes min, almost an hour and I look at it as if to say: our order ?. after about 1 hour and 15 minutes the same waiter arrives and asks me: have you already ordered? (whaaaat?!) he had already taken the order but he had forgotten to send it. the fact is that: we did not eat, we arrived very late to board the ship and the last evening was disgusting. do not know if it is paid little? do you work too much? maybe it has some distraction? the fact is that this young and tall guy ruined us...

Bad. Mixture of food from different cultures but poorly executed. We went for Spanish food, sangria and croquettes. They were terrible. I don’t know how they made the sangria and what did they put in it but I considered throwing it to the ocean. I did not, I wouldn’t have been fair for the fish. We also order some quesadillas and nachos that were very small and very disappointing. Artificial cheese, guacamole, chips and tomatoes. Astronaut...

Nachdem wir einige Minuten am Eingang des fast leeren Lokals gewartet hatten (der Service war mit den Handys beschäftigt…) und die Barkeeperin mehrmals laut durch das Lokal gerufen hatte, um ihre Kolleginnen aufzuwecken, wurden wir ohne „Bonjour“ nur knapp an einen Tisch gesetzt.

Die Karte hat ein breites Sortiment, klebt aber ekelhaft und sollte mal erneuert werden.

Das Essen kam recht flink, alles aus der Dose, nichts frisches dabei, die Guacamole schmeckte nach gar nichts. Der Kellner war den Umgang mit Vegetariern deutlich nicht gewohnt, seine Kollegin knallte immer lieblos und woanders hinschauend die Speisen und Getränke auf den Tisch, er reichte immer alles quer über den Tisch. Die Speisen waren ganz ok, aber nicht gewürzt und lauwarm.

Pluspunkte waren die immer wieder ausgewechselten „Caraffes“ (gekühltes stilles Wasser aus dem Wasserhahn) und die alkfreien Mocktails, die sehr lecker waren.

Ein gutes Lokal zum Kleinigkeiten schnergeln, direkt an der Hafenpromenade gelegen, dafür aber mit schwachem Service, einzig die Bardame hatte top Niveau und war aufmerksam, sonst hätte es noch einen Punkt weniger gegeben. Schade, da kann man mehr...
