Racist place!
Yesterday, I visited this restaurant and placed my order with the waiter. The manager noticed a bracelet with the Ukrainian flag on my wrist and immediately began speaking to me in Russian. I replied in English, explaining that I don't speak Russian and that we could communicate in another language.
Her reaction was aggressive and loud. She started yelling at me, insisting that all Ukrainians speak Russian and that I must speak Russian with her. I refused again, reiterating in English that I wouldn't communicate in Russian.
At this point, she demanded that I pay and leave immediately. I refused to pay for something I hadn’t received. She laughed and told me, "We will pick everything, take your bottle and go eat on the street!" I stood my ground and refused. She then cancelled my meal order and insisted I pay in cash for the wine. I told her I would only pay with a card and requested a receipt.
Throughout this ordeal, she went to other tables—apparently her friends—and pointed at me, making angry gestures and saying something.
This is typical behavior from a representative of this country: racist and arrogant. Don't waste your money, time, or...
Read moreDisappointing! Our first night in Bastia and we chose this restaurant because of other reviews, the lovely harbour side location and the assurances of the staff that they would adapt a dish to exclude the ingredients and dressings that my wife didn’t want.
Both our meals were very small portions, over cooked but only warm when served. My wife’s sea bass arrived with many of the items she specified she didn’t want; my fish soup was poor, rather flavourless, burned to the bowl - I fear it may have been prepared earlier then nuked on a microwave!
We saw the dessert served to another table and it didn’t inspire us so we asked for the bill.
Then came the shock that they don’t accept card payment by phone only plastic. Luckily I just had enough cash on me otherwise we may have had to spend the rest of our evening washing up!
Overrated, expensive...
Read moreVery nice restaurant right on the port.
We were at the restaurant about 30 minutes before the official opening time, but we were already seated and ordered a cocktail. So much service must also be rewarded.
The service (a young man) himself was very attentive.
The food was delicious and we ordered a starter platter, seafood paste and wine. Everything really really good.
After the main course we suddenly had the bill on the table from a lady.
We would have liked to have ordered another bottle of wine and dessert.
After that we weren't asked.
It's funny when there are enough free tables at...
