The relaxed and pleasant atmosphere when we entered this place was so much different from the other restaurants in Bastia, where you were often treated like a second class customer or even ignored, if you are not local. We felt immediately very welcome and Christelle was super sweet and helpful explaining us the small but very fine menu in English. Also the wine she recommended was just excellent. It was the first place on the island where we were immediately offered to choose between tap water or bottled water. All other places before only gave us the choice of sparkling or still bottled water to charge some extra Euros. The lovely experience continued when we got our delicious starters, an Asian inspired ceviche of octopus and a very yummy version of gaspacho with avocado and zesty pickles. All accompanied by a selection of home made bread. The journey continued with a crispy but juicy breast of duck with grilled melon and an exotic spiced cherry sauce. The highlight was reached when the white tuna with Asian spiced veggies arrived. It was grilled to perfection, still slightly pink and juicy inside and came with a light but delicious curry sauce. We could feel the expertise and love the dishes were prepared with in every bite. It was worth every Euro!! The well balanced aroma compositions of the fresh local products were simply incredible. Thomas the chef is a real genius bringing very well matching tastes and perfect way of preparation together and Christelle was a real sweetheart completing the experience with her heartfelt but professional service. The restaurant is very clean and well organized, whether you look in the bathroom or in the kitchen. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere so much that we had to come back for dinner again the same day. It's a little gem not far from the port of Bastia and all the other tourist restaurants. I would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and colleagues without hesitation and hope they will be in business for a long time, as the city really needs more lovely and authentic places like this as an alternative to those many superficial tourist places in town. Thank you Christelle and Thomas for making our last day of our vacation so wonderful and remarkable! 🫶 We can't wait to visit your lovely restaurant again and wish you...
Read moreWe visited here for dinner because the reviews were good so I think I should correct that. We were led to our table upstairs which was empty and we were shown quite firmly the worst table. We sat down thinking well at least the food will be good. It wasn't. Maybe I should have got up and walked out at this point but we sat down anyway. There were no menus only what was written on the blackboard. She knew we were English but explained at high speed in French what was in each of the dishes. We chose the tartar which arrived very promptly. It was a tartar of just peppers maybe with some seasoning maybe not I could not see anything else in the tartar apart from peppers. A raw egg was broken on top of the peppers and it was served with lettuce without dressing on top and with chips. That was the main course and that was it. €22. And we paid 38 euros for a very average bottle of red wine. We decided at that stage to not have dessert and to cut our...
