Let me start by saying, we first went here in 2013 (Bar Le 47ème Brasserie)for Our Honeymoon (not just here mind…). We have been a number of times since. We always come here for Moules frites and have always loved it!!!

This time though. The service was great, beer was great and Coffee was great. That’s where it ended. Yet again, we had Moules Frites. I mean…to say the Mussels were bad is a genuine understatement. I would go as far to say, they were the worst I’ve ever had. They were worse than the ones in the bags that you put in the microwave!! Not even a hint of seasoning and totally tasteless. The mussels themselves…if I was a betting man, seemed frozen as the were really dry, that’s if you could taste them. I’ve had bigger cockles (honestly they were so small as they had been so overcooked )! I didn’t even finish mine. Then the Chips came out burnt!

The Burger my son had was pretty good though completely unseasoned, however the Fish and chips my daughter had was Fantastic!

We will go back as we have some great memories though I felt I had to say something as this experience was so bad compared to the last time that we visited.

It seems to have changed hands as when we went last, it was Bar Le 47ème Brasserie. Perhaps it has changed...

Vachement ... La Pire. Port-en-Bessin is a lovely little fishing village with a fresh fish market. Wonderful place for fresh fish ... you would think. This restaurant is 20m from the market but even that seems too much distance for these jokers. I ordered fish and chips and, after a long wait, got supermarket frozen fish, vastly overcooked chips and soggy lettuce. When we said the chips were "old", meaning they have been overcooked and left out, we were told it was the type of potato they use - so that would explain why they were cold then. The fish and chips was 17.50 euros - another joke. So, overpriced menus, sub-standard food and the worst service I have experienced. Don't waste your cash. I would prefer zero stars. Avoid...

ACHTUNG! Deutschenfeindliches Restaurant!

We had a fantastic lunch here with our family, including three small children (6,6,3). They have a menu in English if you need it. We started with a dozen oysters which were some of the best I’ve ever had. Our family then split the homemade burger with fries, fish and chips, and fish soup with scallops added. I don’t think the scallops were worth adding to the soup, a bit expensive and didn’t add much to the experience. After the meal the waiters brought my husband and I a sample of their housemade calvados and our kids a lollipop at no charge. Great experience and great food all around, a bit expensive but worth the visit!

A fantastic fresh seafood restaurant! Recently under new ownership, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh and flavorful with plenty of options for everyone in my party. Prices were also very reasonable for the portion size. Staff was very friendly and willing to help with translation of their menu as they had their menu only in French. I was recommended to get the scallops, which is what this area is known for, and they were delicious!!

Had a wonderful lunch on the water here. Waiter staff were well trained and efficient. Very polite and tolerant of our pigeon-French. Ordered the mixed seafood platter for one and the steak tartar, both were delicious. On the drinks side; 2 glasses of house white, a beer and a cider. Came to €72 for the two of us. Was reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. Would come back.
