A total disappointment: overpriced, terrible service, and awful food My experience at this restaurant was, without a doubt, one of the worst. The food was bland, poorly presented, and of a quality that in no way justifies the outrageous prices. The service was completely inattentive, with unfriendly and disorganized staff. The most absurd part? €8 for a 1-liter bottle of water. Absolutely ridiculous. This place seems more focused on squeezing money out of customers than on providing a decent dining experience. And to top it all off, we left hungry. The portions were laughably small—more like tastings than actual meals—yet priced like high-end cuisine. I won’t be coming back, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of better places for much less.

I guess some of these reviews are unfair but it depends what you're looking for. We had a lot of time and appreciated that it was a really good atmosphere and full of people. The food was pretty good for something relaxed and easy and not too fancy. Entrecote and fries and mussels and fries were really good, tapas were fine, paella was weirdly spiced and didn't taste like normal. The staff were super nice and the wine was some of the best we had our whole trip. The couple across from us complained because their burger was pink but come on, you're in France. Would recommend for a fun evening with a busy and lively atmosphere, maybe not so much if you're looking for top level dining. Bring some patience but enjoy the energy!

Meh would be my first and last impression. I wasn’t impressed by the food nor the service. I am pescatarian so I do enjoy seafood like no tomorrow. Being in Biarritz which is on the coast would enable anyone to be open to trying the seafood in the city. We ordered the Gambas (prawns), patatas bravas (potatoes with their house sauce), cheeseboard (mixed with cheeses, salad and their baguette on the side), and their calamari (probably the best thing on the menu). Everything, but the calamari were 2 stars. They got an extra star because of the calamari lol. Would I come here again? Definitely not. However, it’s a great vibe inside with music and dancing on the weekends. According to our server, it’s thee spot to go out to.

This was our first Pinxtos experience in Biarritz from a google search saying "best pinxtos near me" we were NOT dissapointed but wish we understood the process at the start, which we learned as we stood and ate watching everyone around us. Live and learn. When we arrived, on the early side of 7-8 p.m there were large picnic tables on one side of the street open, we should have sat to not only order pinxtos from the bar, but some tapas as well. We were asked if we wanted just pinxtos and we said yes, not realizing tables were reserved for people ordering food. Pinxtos are a fast snack, drink, and move along to the next bar kind of experience. But we have no regrets, we just didn't know and now we do so i can pass that along to you. Our experience was amazing, authentic and everything was fresh and delicious. We had to keep going back for more! I would return, but sit next time to get pinxtos more as an appetizer and order tapas which looked amazing! For more photos and videos from Le Bar Jean and our experience follow me on Instagram...

We went in because the place had a Spanish feel and the kitchen was open at 4pm. We ordered croquettas with ham (4 pieces) and St Jaques, 1 tinto de verano and a small bottle of water. After we ordered we read the review about the cocroach, so it made us already feel a little uneasy but we wanted to give it a chance. Then the waiter spilt the food on the floor while serving. So I caught some nice fat stains on my new pants. Never mind… The waiter who made the mess dissapeared and never apologized. Someone else with more experience took over. I got a coffee for free and the bill the waiter showed me was around 54,xx. I paid with the credit card and didn’t pay too much attention and didn’t ask for the receipt. All I thought was that they were getting away cheap for the mess they made on my pants. Later when I saw my credit card balance the payment showed up as 59 EUR. I was quite upset but I decided not to walk back all the way to have a discussion and ruin our day. In my opinion the place is totally overpriced for what you get and for the...

A very familiar restaurant that is busy year round and especially on weekends and holidays. Depending on the time/day you could wait a fair while for a table/food. We went on a Saturday night and had a short wait. Took 10 mins for the menus to arrive and another 10 for our order to be taken. Then a 40 min wait for the food. I had the scallops, the daily special, according to the waiter. I didn’t see any blackboard or price and was shocked when the bill came they were €40! Food and wine were good though it’s a little overpriced. It’s a hugely popular place with locals and tourists (national and international). I was with French speakers and the wait staff can speak some English and Spanish (depending on waiter) Menu has English translation. On a busy weekend there are over 200 meals being prepared at once so that’s something to keep in mind. It’s quit a hectic place with waiters constantly rushing by. Don’t expect them to stop and attend to you as you walk in. The waiters don’t manage the tables or...
