TXIKI THAI — Restaurant in Bayonne

A must-visit if you’re in Bayonne and looking for an authentic and tasty place for Thai food. We followed all the positive Google review and weren’t disappointed.

As Thais and been traveling in Spain for the last few days, we were craving for Thai food. Menu was only in French and waiters didn’t speak good English. Luckily, I walked to the kitchen area and the cooks were all Thai. They were nice enough and came outside to help us with the ordering and came to check up later on how was the food. Great service and hospitality.

Food were delicious!! Ingredients and taste were pretty authentic.

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant during a quick road trip into Bayonne. We had such a wonderful time meeting Paul and his wife Boo (apologies if we didn't spell names correctly!), who served us fresh, authentic Thai food in a vibrant atmosphere decorated with fascinating art. The pork belly was delectable, and the pork laab salad was the perfect mixture of savory and refreshing I was looking for. An additional highlight was the variety of unique sauces this meal came with.

En poussant la porte du Txiki Thaï, on ne rentre pas dans un simple restaurant : on traverse une frontière invisible. Les sourires sont immédiats, sincères, comme si on retrouvait des amis qu’on n’avait pas encore rencontrés. À table, ce n’est pas seulement des plats qu’on commande, c’est une histoire qu’on goûte. Les parfums s’entremêlent, les saveurs explosent, et chaque bouchée a ce petit quelque chose qui transporte directement à Bangkok, sans escale.

On nous conseille avec bienveillance, on nous apprend deux ou trois mots de thaï comme un cadeau inattendu, et même ce petit Dijon offert, geste simple mais tellement rare, transforme un dîner en souvenir lumineux. Et puis vient l’addition… 22,50 € par tête, entrée, plat, dessert. On se regarde presque étonnés : comment un tel voyage peut coûter si peu ?
