English--short version: Avoid this place! Tourist trap, overpriced and careless. Menu full of mistakes, rotten mozzarella with a nauseating smell, endless waiting, and total indifference from the staff. My friend got sick after the meal.
English--long version: I recently ate at this restaurant and had the worst meal Iâve had in years. Itâs an obvious tourist trap, and the experience was so bad that I feel compelled to leave this follow-up review.
First of all, even the name of the beer Peroni is spelled wrong on their menu â they wrote âPerroni.â This shows how careless they are and how little attention they pay to detail.
Then came the starter. The âLe Petit Italyâ salad (named after the restaurant itself, as shown in the photo)⊠The mozzarella in it had a strong, rotten stench that lingered â so bad that after one bite, I had to spit it out immediately.
Having travelled to Italy several times over the years, I know that proper mozzarella should never taste like this â unless itâs been sitting around for three days or more. I asked the waiter about it, but he didnât respond and acted as if nothing had happened. Clearly, serving unfresh ingredients and passing them off as good quality is nothing new here.
After finishing the starter, we waited another 50 minutes for the main course â and this was when the restaurant wasnât even busy with tourists.
A friend who was dining with me ate several pieces of the mozzarella and ended up with diarrhea. I didnât eat any mozzarella, and I had no problems afterwards.
This place is truly terrible â overpriced, with seriously bad, unfresh ingredients. Strongly...
Read moreThe best pizza in Beauvais! Hands down. Yup it's true. Very much like pizza in Rome. Pastas are slightly chewy, so if you want yours softer, let them know. Lunch bowl of pasta with a choice of sauce and a glass of wine, beer or bottled water is 14 or 16 these days. It's an outdoor/indoor cafe where everyone goes to sit and watch the locals. We think the tomato ragu lasagna is great and the salmon pasta was very good. Fresh tap beer, wines and coffee finish the experience. Stephane has been genuinely friendly and hospitable to us all of the many times we have been here.
If you're not spending a bundle and you want a great time and terrific food, Little Italy is the place...
Read moreI love eating at Little Italy. The staff is better than great. The owner is remarkable. The pizza is the best I've eaten in France, and once it was the best of my lifetime. The pastas are al dente with a variety of sauce flavors. The baked pastas are soft, luscious, and delicious. The meat dishes are deep flavor with interesting composition. The beer is fresh and delicious. They have amazing Italian red wines that I have never seen before. By tourist and visitor standards (I am an American living here), it is inexpensive. By French standard it is customary priced.
Eat here, everyone...
