After reading some evaluations and comments, we were a little bit worried about our reservation. But I really enjoyed dinner here. First, the dish was so tasty. I become often disappointed about fish dishes because fish pkates are perfect in our country. And the fish here perfectly reach high level. You cannot expect state-of-the-art modern michellin plates, but the way they cook is high standard. I ordered grilled beef rare. Not cold but perfectly warm. The lady and service staff are friendly. As some comments mentioned, some staff seemed not to get used to doing service, but they looked rather cute. The desserts are satisfactorily well made and especially the ice cream was delicious. Loire wine is well selected and its price is affordable. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Disappointing! Very expensive, though nothing, but the location justifies the price. Very bland food, no different layers of taste. Fish was just fish and meat was just meat. No positive surprises whatsoever. The roasted vegetables even had a prominent, bitter aftertaste of being burned rather than just roasted. The food was generally colder than the plate it was served on. The non alcoholic drink was an insult! Plain orange juice for 15 euro. Even though I took one zip and returned it, I got fully billed for it. Same for the meat main course which I returned as I was not able to ignore my taste buds enough to eat more than two bites. The service was ok. Not being able to speak french is a problem here!

I think it is delicious according to French standards because the food was terrible. We had amazing dinners in other restaurants in same price range in this little city but we wanted a different experience in front of the castle yet we regretted it so much! If you have standards as high as Michelin star restaurants, be aware that this restaurant is not even worth calling it a ‘restaurant’ side dishes were poorly presented and the little salad they brought was rawly salad without salt, vinegar or any other sauce (they weren’t also served on the table so if you don’t like the salt on the food or if you want to add pepper etc. You have to ask for it which is not normal.) I also have to tell that the waiter that served us was very uneducated and when we asked for a table that would be covered in case of rain (it was cloudy) she changed our table by saying if you don’t sit there someone else will, nothing changes, as an answer, we are not willing to get wet while eating plus if you don’t have parts that are covered in case of rain, it is your problem not ours :) In such a touristic area, she was keeping answering us in french while we talked to her in english. Poor attitude, poor workers and poor food. Such an amazing potential, atmosphere and location is wasted with such a terrible...

Not sure which restaurant some of these other negative reviewers were at, but it can't have been this one. It was a delight from start to finish. We were visiting the Loire in early May, and while Blois was not at its best due to the incessant heavy rain across the whole region, our evening there was made memorable by the cooking and setting of the Orangerie. E40 for a first class menu - someone said it wasn't worth it. Really? Where do they usually eat? In England, you'd pay twice that for the equivalent quality, without half the choice in wines. I did think the i-pad thing was a bit of a faff but then there are so many wines a paper menu would be equally cumbersome (and not as easy to update). My wife was astonished that her French menu had no prices while mine did; I was too. The maitre changed them for English menus at one point, but prices were still absent from hers. So, for anachronistic paternalism, I deduct 1 star form my review - 4 stars, and well done...

The price is reasonable. I like the sauces especially they were so match with the meals! The chef dished up fantastic also! But the dessert was too sweet for me... The service was just alright... Sorry I'm a journalist so I'm always sliding my phone...my fault! But I'm pretty sure I put the folk and knife in the continental style... I know its rude sliding the phone when you are in a high class restaurant but can you please stop asking me if its terminal and in the same time keep asking if I want more bread. (Its not logical for me) Then I asked a coffee and he did give me a coffee without any explanation. The coffee tasted super light! So when I asked the bill, I asked: what kind of coffee is it? He answered: Espresso. (Trust me, I never had a espresso as light as it in whole of my life...) And I just said: ok! I just want to know if here are other choices of coffee? He answered: we have tea! but you want a coffee and I give you a...
