We made dinner reservations by phone. When we arrived no one was there to greet us, we had to find someone and tell them we had a reservation. This would not have been a problem as the restaurant was full. We were given a table on the enclosed terrace, heated by a hot air blower, which was fine until we ran out of gas. In the meantime the starter arrived and it was delicious and the highlight of the evening because after that I can't write any more positive things. Nobody cared that we were sitting in the cold (there was nobody on the terrace except us). I then approached the waiter and asked for a table inside in the warmth as there were tables available by this time. It was logical to me if the heating was not working outside they would offer this themselves unfortunately it did not happen. Inside the temperature was more pleasant and the Fondu de fromage aux Morrilles arrived. It was a mistake to order it but we were hungry so we had some. It was impossible to eat the whole thing because we got a chewy oily thing that shouldn't be called fondu by any chance. I won't even mention the bread because it dwarfs the real problem. We chose this restaurant based on google reviews and it is tempting on the outside but a huge disappointment. For our part we will not be returning and would not recommend it to anyone. As a postscript I would like to mention that we broke a glass on our way out by complete accident for which we apologise again in retrospect (it is only fair to mention this) Have a nice...

The negatives: Gustatory experience. I flew across the world from Australia to experience an ‘incroyable’ French fondue at Chamonix. This expectation was not close to met. It was ordinary tasting, similar to what I would expect from a supermarket fondue.
The bread tasted old it, a bit dry and mushy, perhaps a couple of days old. I refused to believe they could serve old bread at Chamonix especially with the prices they charge. But my instincts were proven right by the mould we found on the bread halfway through the dinner…
Service. The waitresses were friendly, but I was placed to sit on their passage corridor and was hit in the back by multiple plates of food whilst on my seat. We moved seats on our own accord.
Price. I understand the price is on par with Chamonix standards, but the quality is below what I expected so I simply cannot justify it.
Hope this helps inform future visitors considering a stop over at this establishment...
Read moreWe decided to go here based on the positive reviews and the fact they have the famous raclette on the menu. I made a reservation on the day itself and it was taken care off. When we arrived on the reserved time our table was not ready yet. Although that’s not a big deal what made us surprised is that even though the place was for 95% empty, they put us directly next to another guest. And the distance was so close it was ridiculous. We ordered raclette. But it’s actually nothing more than cheese gourmet. Putting cheese in a little gourmet pan is not raclette! Service was straight forward. Not good or bad. Pizza from our neighbor (who we could see and hear eating very clearly) looked good. 😂 Would we come back here a next time?...
