Le River Megève — Restaurant in Bonneville

Two days ago, we had a brunch for 10 people and spent around €555. Yesterday, I returned to the café with my sister and three children just to buy some water. We purchased four bottles, and my daughter needed to use the restroom. Suddenly, an older gentleman approached us and began shouting. I struggled to understand him because he spoke in French. He raised his voice again, insisting that we had to buy something if we wanted to use the bathroom.

As tourists in Megève, we weren’t familiar with the café’s rules, and his rudeness was shocking. It felt like he was about to throw us out. I tried to speak to him calmly to explain that if the restroom was only for paying customers, we would gladly make a purchase and he forced us to buy so I bought cookies to leave us alone . My daughter even pointed out that he should explain the rules in a more respectful manner. We have been to this restaurant a couple of times in the past but unfortunately Saturday 16th of December will have been our last. The positives - Great location, nice ambiance, good service. The negatives - We ordered two café lattes and just one slice of chocolate cake. The coffees were bitter and nothing like a latte should taste, worse still they were both luke warm, I don't understand why there's a problem to measure the temperature of the milk with a thermometer before its served, this is normal practice in most other countries. As for the small slice of chocolate cake, it was well past its best and bordering on being stale.
