Bistro Poulette — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Excellent moules frite and the recommended white wine machted perfectly! They serve a few other dishes but it seems that most people go there because of the mussels with fries.

Moreover the attention was great. You really feel that the staff loves their work. The small kitchen is directly behind the bar. The chef - I think he's the owner - dances while cooking although it's the rush hour. They find the time to chat with the clients and get all dishes prepared incredibly fast.

I am so happy I found this place. If you are looking for great cheap eats in Bordeaux, this is the spot. You may need to wait a while if it’s busy, but we were able to sit in 20 minutes. I ordered the mussels with bacon and fries. Before you eat the mussels, make sure you give the bowl a good stir. Enjoy the mussels, dunk the fries in the sauce, eat the rest of the mussels, and shamelessly drink the soup. Oh and enjoy some wine :)

Great mussels and amazing fries. I got the marinara which was normal but the blue cheese mussel of the day was superb. We tried the country mussels too (with garlic and bacon) which was very well received by everyone including the kids. wonderful meal and prompt service. On weekdays they have a steak and frites dish, while tasty, it's a bit tough at medium cooked so I would probably only recommend the mussels. Only mussels on weekends. Yum.
