Léon - Bordeaux-Sainte Eulalie — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Its been a good few years since we went here but we fancied moules so we decided to go. I was shocked we were not allowed to book after 8pm, I wonder how many customers they lose like this but thought we'd try going and it was fine, the place was quite empty for a Saturday night.. We asked not to be sat by the door (there was actually the start of a "tempête" outside) our request was met by rolled eyes by the host and then a manager shouting out he turned on the blow heat above the door so it's fine. The restaurant was half empty so I don't understand the reluctance to not wanting to seat us elsewhere. We insisted and were seated in an empty area (whole section was empty), so not a great start as I don't see what the big deal was. Anyway the food was as we always remembered it, nice muscles with Roquefort, daughter had fish and chips and my son had one of we hadn't seen before "raclette" style grilled muscles which he loved. We were soooooooooo disappointed by the cafe gourmand...a weird pistachio mousse, a strip of gauffre and a pot of pineapple....just do NOT bother with this unless they change the desserts for this, ask what they are beforehand. We are always excited for the cafe gourmand wherever we go, this was appalling. My son had the pre prepared crème brûlée, he was a little disappointed it wasn't warm and crispy on top from the oven. The service was great & our meal came within a few minutes. The fish and chips (poisson et frites) is always delicious and the Fish Caesar Salad is excellent. The waffle with sugar is yummy and the cafe (coffee) gourmand is always great as well and it was a mini creme brulee and a mini fondant au chocolat (like a chocolate cake which is runny in the middle and hard on the outside). Accueil moyen. Nous arrivons et des serveuses passent trois fois devant nous sans rien nous dire. Nous étions un peu en retard donc le patron nous l'a bien fait remarqué. Je n'ai jamais vu aucun restaurant reprocher un retard à leurs clients, ce n'est pas du tout professionnel !!! Pour mon apéro, j'ai prit un mojito mais je n'ai pas senti l'alcool dedans. Le point positif, c'est que ça n'allait pas faire bondir l'éthylotest. En ce qui concerne le repas, c'est la première fois de ma vie que je laisse mon assiette dans un restaurant. J'ai déjà trouvé des repas moyens mais mangeable. Là, c'était vraiment écoeurant. Je ne sais pas sur quoi je suis tombé dans ce plat qui était un tartare de saumon mais c'était pas bon du tout. Pourtant, j'adore le saumon et les tartares mais là, même avec un effort, je n'ai pas pu manger. Les frites était carrément décongelées et ça se sentait. Aucune proposition d'accompagnement (ketchup ou mayo). J'ai dû le demander. Pas d'eau ni de pain proposés. Alors que nous avions encore nos plats devant nous, la serveuse vient nous débarrasser. J'ai hésité sérieusement à prendre un dessert, mais je me suis tout de même laissé tenter. J'ai prit une île flottante qui était tellement sucré que c'est idéal pour les personnes en hypoglycémie. Conclusion de l'histoire, pour mon repas de saint-valentin, si nous avions été chez Mcdo, ça aurait été meilleur.
