The Market Tavern — Restaurant in Bordeaux

An English pub, with an exceptional menu, in the middle of the Chartrons. We were there for lunch, but ended up staying almost all night!! The Hog and Beef burger was out of this world, and my girlfriends Fish and Chips was just as stellar. They have a great selection of British Beers (the Craft Pilsner was my fav for the night), and the staff (all fluent english speakers) were exceptionally friendly. Andrew knows a ton about Bordeaux and all the best places to go. So if he's working, be sure to ask him for tips. I'll defiantly be going back sooner...

We have visited this bar on many occasions over the past few years. Now under new management! We visited this bar last night, there were 22 people in our party and we all had a fantastic evening. We all ate of their menu, some of us had meals others just tapas and snacks but either way the food was excellent, very tasty and a definite value for money ! The staff were very friendly speaking both French and English and were very attentive to all our needs. Would definitely be returning to this bar...

We arrived late bank holiday weekend, wanting a snack when all the restaurants would only serve a full meal. Don't be deceived - they serve fresh ingredients, lovely vegetarian food (bar food), and in spite of being fairly full, staff still made time to make us very welcome.
