The Sherlock Holmes — Restaurant in Bordeaux

Horrendous experience. We went there when France was playing a game and sat outside. We were told That there were no nachos so they gave us cheese and cold cuts instead. One slice of cheese looked rotten, the cold cuts were all plain and nasty, and the whole thing cost an arm and a leg.

They didn't clean the table before we sat down, but also put our bread on a napkin that was too small so the bread was touching the disgusting table.

To order drinks, we had to wait for a waitress to walk outside, but they would go out once every 20mins and not look our way. When I went inside to order, they claimed to have been going outside regularly (a lie). Finally, the waitress told me that she would "make an exception" and take my order at the bar.

The cocktails were watered down, but the beer was pretty decent (the only reason to justify the 1 star this place got). And the cherry on top it that as we were finishing our last drink, we saw a table get nachos when we were told that they ran out.

What a glorious pub

It had the football on so watched that, and before it they were playing Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.

Had several drinks, food was ordered which was great whilst football was on and I loved it.

Only downside was it has steps everywhere and I fell over carrying 3 drinks! However managed to not spill them and it was funny, even if I did smack up my knees pretty bad. But wine solves all...

J’ai visité The Sherlock Holmes en fin de journée, et laissez-moi vous dire que ce fut une enquête des plus réussies ! Dès mon arrivée, j’ai été frappé par l’atmosphère chaleureuse et authentique du lieu : un mélange de pub anglais traditionnel et d’une ambiance conviviale où l’on se sent immédiatement à l’aise.

La carte des bières est impressionnante, avec un large choix pour satisfaire tous les goûts. Heureusement, la barmaid, véritable experte en la matière, a mené l’interrogatoire avec brio : après m’avoir posé quelques questions sur mes préférences, elle m’a recommandé une bière florale qui s’est révélée être exactement ce que je cherchais. On peut dire que son instinct de déduction était digne de Sherlock lui-même !

Le service est impeccable, rapide et souriant, ce qui ajoute encore au plaisir de l’expérience. L’endroit est propre, bien entretenu, et l’ambiance est idéale, que ce soit pour discuter entre amis ou simplement observer les mystères de la vie défiler autour d’une bonne pinte.
