Vinayaka Restaurant Augustins — Restaurant in Bordeaux

I had the best Indian food in France at Vinayaka Restaurant (rue des Augustins). We asked for spicy food and the food we got was beyond our expectation. Baigan bharta was the one we get in India (ie without too much cheese) and the Paneer matar masala was amazing. We had asked to make it spicy and it was really we were looking for. Above all the veg samosa, that we got here, we never had it like that in France since last 5 years, it has yummy stuffing.

Absolute horror show. The service was terrible, the staff was negligent, overworked and did not pay attention to its the clients. The decor/ambience is mediocre at best. The food is a new level of low. The food lacked depth and flavor, the meat was rubbery (i ordered the mutton), and the curries were wattery and not cooked well in general . The only thing cooked properly was the rice.

Bottom line, absolutely avoidable, don't go unless you have no options, and if you have to, then order as little...

Je n’ai pas visité ce restaurant mais ma commande via Uber Eat m’a définitivement convaincu de ne pas y mettre les pieds. De passage à Bordeaux, j’ai commandé un poulet tikka massala + riz safran. La barquette de poulet tikka massala contenait 4 petits morceaux de poulets noyés dans la sauce, à peine visibles (pas tendres et peu savoureux). En revanche la barquette de riz était pleine à ras bord. Une part pour deux carrément ! Une belle barquette de riz blanc avec quelques grains de riz au safran parsemé au-dessus ... J’ai appelé pour informer le restaurant. Le ton était dédaigneux, pas à l’écoute aucune prise en considération. Je viens de Guadeloupe et la communauté indienne y est très présente. Mon épouse est d’origine indienne, je mange indien régulièrement. J’ai mangé indien en Afrique du Sud à Paris au Canada à Saint-Martin à Miami et je n’ai jamais mangé de ma vie un riz safran blanc ! Pourtant ce monsieur m’a dit que dans son restaurant c’est comme ça, sous entendu que je peux bien aller me faire voir. Continuez comme ça ! Restez un restaurant classique et arrêtez de faire du Uber Eat si c’est pour baisser en qualité. Soyez un minimum respectueux aussi au téléphone. Ma femme a refusé de manger votre plat et s’est contentée des deux nan. Malheureusement pour moi...
