La Girafe — Restaurant in Boulogne-Billancourt

This is by far the restaurant with the rudest staff I've even seen (literally, and I've been living in Paris for 4 years, so I've got a very large sample). This might be true even if you are a native French speaker, but I think it's particularly true if you're not. I've been living and working in France for 4 years, my French is between B2 and C1, and most of all I've never had a problem making an order! This is not the case here, as some waitresses (actually one) apparently has a problem with my Italian accent. Fine, that might even be my fault, even though nobody else in France seems to have a problem understanding me (also, I'm not exactly talking rocket science when ordering crepes). What is not fine is the fact that after screwing up your orders multiple times (literally), they charge you for the wrong orders. Again, it might be fine, their prerogative, but I would have liked to be told beforehand and be given the choice to actually eat the extra food I would in any case be paying for. Nothing like this here. They just carry away the wrong orders, saying nothing, and then you are brought the check. When you note there are extra items you're told it's your fault. They will do so in such an aggressive manner that you will probably do as I have done today, pay the full bill and leave the change so as to leave such a disgusting place as soon as possible, and...

5 stars for the food. 1 star for the service "when it is crowded". There is one poor waitress who runs everywhere along with the owner/manager. Kindly avoid when there is special events. Its purely money minting plan because there is nothing special and they do not serve everything in the menu. They have a so called special "restricted" menu. My unfortunate story is i took 2 of my kids on one of these special occasions Magic show. The table next to me was the family of 6 or 7 of the owner/manager. The magic show happened on their table since they were special guests and we were totally ignored on the corner. My 6 years old kid was totally disappointed adding to the fact he was hungry and we were served after waiting more than an hour. The manager recognised the error and he said he will offer the price for one kids drink WHICH WE ACTUALLY DIDNT GET SERVED ON THE FIRST PLACE. La Girafe is a lovely crêperie - savoury pancakes are made with buckwheat so are naturally gluten free. Sweet pancakes are made with wheat flour. Both are delicious and there are lots of vegetarian options although there was a slight hiccup when I ended up with bacon in my crêpe! I will put it down to my poor language skills. Service is friendly and welcoming, and staff were wonderful at accommodating our poor French with their much better English.
