We stayed at Mama Shelter and overall had a great experience. Everything was clean, neat, and beautifully designed — I was absolutely in love with the hotel’s style. The breakfasts were delicious, and the beds were unbelievably soft — like sleeping on a cloud. In terms of comfort and vibe, it was truly excellent.||However, our first evening didn’t go smoothly. We decided to have dinner on the rooftop, and once there, I realized I had a sore throat. So we started by ordering tea, and later placed an order for an Aperol Spritz and pizza, asking for them to be served together.||Instead, the Aperol was brought immediately. We politely asked for it to be taken away and served with the food. The waitress seemed surprised, but she took the drink back — and simply placed it on the bar counter. It then sat there for about 30 minutes while we waited for our pizza.||Unfortunately, my tea arrived in a very dirty cup, and I had to take it to the bar myself to ask for a clean one. When the pizza finally came, it looked undercooked. And alongside it, we were given the same Aperol that had been sitting out on the bar the entire time. We asked for someone to come speak with us to help resolve the situation, but after a long wait, no one came. The dinner was disappointing, and we ended up ordering McDonald’s instead.||That said, the next morning changed everything. I urgently needed sanitary pads and assumed the hotel would have something available at reception. Unfortunately, they didn’t, and I was told to go out and find a shop — which was physically challenging in that moment.||While near the ground-floor restaurant, I approached a woman working there (her name is PRAMILA). She initially said she was sorry and couldn’t help — but 20 minutes later, she returned with exactly what I needed. She had gone around the hotel asking staff until she found a colleague who could assist.||I was truly touched by her dedication, kindness, and persistence. As someone with over 15 years of experience in hospitality, I know how rare and valuable it is to meet people like that. Thanks to her, our stay became warm and memorable — this is what real...
Read moreThe hotel is located close to the exhibition center and close by to many other establishments around the area. The vicinity seemed safe even at night. The check in was a pleasant experience as Ines was friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The room is decent sized for the area with a very comfortable bed. The room was clean but didn't have any water bottles in the room. Also, a green cleaning towel was left on the counter top, so attention to details were lacking.
Besides Ines, the security at night seemed friendly. However, we felt the hostess lady during breakfast wasn't very friendly and lacked a smile. Breakfast has a good selection of food and beverages. But the staff seemed a bit slow in replenishing some items and didn't seem to be too friendly.
Visited the same restaurant for dinner and the service was below average. Got to the restaurant 15 minutes before the reservation and went to the bar. Waited for awhile and finally had to get the attention of the bartender to get a drink as they were too busy cleaning and replenishing the garnishes for cocktails. After being seated, it took a long time for the server to come get the order. He didn't bring the bread rolls until the meal was almost finished. The pasta dish was below average in taste. Disappointing compared to the food consumed during breakfast.
The hotel has a hip vibe but the vibe itself didn't impress us. The bed was comfortable but the rest was average. The inconsistency of the friendliness of the staff also affected the overall experience in a...
Read moreInconsistent. Some amazing point but also some low ones. Most of the staff is extremely friendly, professional and welcoming. A special mention to Pramila and breakfast team who went the extra mile to make our family feel welcome. The food is good, the decor is fun. I definitely recommend it but some improvement can be made. A few member of the staff seemed to cool to care.
The rooftop restaurant made mistakes and charged us for it. We ordered the plat du jour at 18€ and were told after being served that the price was actually 32€. Nearly double! Common courtesy would have been to offer us a drink or something. We wanted to spend a good Christmas Eve and didn’t want to ruin our night with an argument about the manager’s poor manners, so we left it at that but felt frustrated.
The xxl room was nicely decorated, roomy and comfortable. The only issue was that the main switch controls the whole suite, so there was no light and the living room when the children slept in the other room. An additional set of lamp would sort that out.
One of the perks of the hotel is the very convenient and easy to use laundry room, that definitely made our life easier with...
