Read moreCame here with big expectation, but my experience was not what I'd have expected from Michelin restaurant. Starting with the food: the first course was pretty good, even if (my personal taste) veal tongue and anchovies do not couple perfectly on same dish. Second dish was beef sirloin, but the meat I got was hard and full of nerves, difficult to chew. Really disappointed. Last cheese, and that was perfectly in order. Unfortunately the bad part was the service: when the waitress came and I complained about the meat she answered me that "the meat has to be hard"!!! At the end of the dinner, we had to wait for the waitress to come back, she went out smoking... And when we were leaving the table, the chef came to explain me that perhaps the meat was hard also because he overcooked that, since "Italians always eat the meat overcooked"!!! I hope he was only trying to make a joke, in a very poor way. By the way, when in a restaurant they know they can cook in different ways, and I'm asked, I answer "still alive".
Last note I have to say other people in my group were pretty satisfied...
Read moreThis was 5* - this was a highlight of our stay. We had been to 6 or 7 other restaurants in Briancon and surrounding villages but this was highlight of our stay.
Amazing food, great menu, great wines and very friendly chef and staff.
They could not find our booking (I called 17.58 on 22nd of Dec to make a reservation for 5th of Jan) - but were kind enough to still host us.
It’s a real shame that there I think were 6 people that didn’t turn up 😡 during the course of the evening.
They should consider 1) taking card details and charging £20 per person in event of no-show or 2) hold the table for max 15 mins and if the people are late, it can be opened up for walk ins.
We will no doubt visit you again when we are back in Serre...
