Orfenor — Restaurant in Brioude

We booked a room for two nights and, upon arrival, more or less immediately decided to extend our stay.

The Orfenor team is young, delightful, and they have already made something very special.

They have rooms with comfortable beds and great furnishings.

There's a convivial, restaurant in the courtyard, which attracts lots of local patronage. The two chefs, Zach and Charles, are incredibly dedicated—rising early to go to the market and make fresh pasta, and so on. Zach recently finished a training with Harry Lester at the Saint Eutrope.

Laura and Lucie are warm, amusing and helpful on front of house, and behind the excellent bar.

The whole team loves a good vide grenier, and things are furnished and decorated in a beautiful way, which I found quite moving.

I am sure that this place will become very well regarded by all the reasonable people in the coming years. I already think they should double their prices... perhaps you should book a stay before they get around to it.

My stay in Hostel Orfenor was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We stayed in a divine room called the Imperial that was beautifully decorated with an enormous private bathroom. The owners were extremely friendly and very attentive with their guests which definitely made the stay worthwhile. Food and drinks were delicious and their live performances on Tuesdays is something I highly recommend for everyone to attend. If you’re ever in Brioude I implore you to check this place out even if it’s just for some food and drinks you are looking for. This little treasure of a place was a lucky find in one of a string of gorgeous medieval villages in the Loire Valley. The staff and owners were fantastic hosts and the food was simple, elegant and delicious. Lots of very tasty vegetales and a vegetarian dish created just for me! Also an astounding collection of wines, lovely music and great decor (tons of antiques and curiosities). It was reassuring to find a business that has real soul and originality. We had already rented a room nearby but the restaurant has rooms upstairs that I'm sure would have been a great option. If we ever come back to the region we would...
