We stayed at the Clos Normand frequently from 2008 until 2019 when it closed for refurbishment and change of ownership/management. Our visits there had always been exceedingly enjoyable and the hotel had a lovely if somewhat dated ambience. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly and would go out of their way to ensure that all guests felt at home. When the hotel reopened we decided to return there even though it was much more expensive than other local hotels and, unfortunately, many of the things we previously enjoyed have changed. The refurbishment now provides almost clinical premises and a matching clinical approach by staff some of whom seem to regard guests as a bit of a nuisance and an unwelcome interruption. Almost the first thing that was said on check-in was a reminder that we must check-out by 11.00 am! Our room was pleasant with the promised sea view and the bed was comfortable. However the little touches that we had been used to were missing. No complementary bath robes, minimal toiletries, no hooks for hanging towels and no bedside tables. The hot water for the bath was a dribble at best and the over-the-bath shower had no fitting on the wall to attach it to. Also, the promised wifi was not working during nearly nearly all of our stay and was only restored on the morning we left. Overall a very disappointing return to what had been a lovely hotel and definitely not...

Booked a 4-night reservation for 3 female adults in a family suite. On arrival given the keys to 2 rooms; one with a double bed, the other with a double bed, a small space with a twin bed, and no closets. After two nights and without notification, management entered one of the rooms removed all of our belongings and dumped them into the second room (shoes and clothing thrown on the bed, toiletry placed on the floor), all done without regard to COVID-19 sanitation codes. If not enough, we were locked out of the room, and it was given to a new guest. Management then insisted that 3 adults share the second, smaller room; pay an extra fee for a new room, or leave the hotel forfeiting payment already made for the remaining two nights. In trying to understand why we were displaced, management accused us of occupying more space than paid for, and stated that the room had been booked in advance to another guest. With no other vacancies in this beach side town, we were left to make due with a small room, to rearrange the furniture to access the toilet, shower and exit door. Items were also lost during the move and management took no responsibility. No apology or compensation for THEIR booking error was made; all blame was placed on us--the customers!||This hotel has reopened under new owners, who have much to learn about operating a hotel and customer service. SO, BOOK THIS HOTEL AT...

Micro sized room smaller than a Travelodge, booked as a "room with a sea view" but beware some rooms look out on the car park (where the sea is visible) No toilet roll holder. Micro bathroom, had to sit at an angle on the toilet as so close to the shower. No USB plugs. No water in the room. For the price, I did expect better. An absolute FAFF at check in, despite having already paid via Booking.com AND filled in an online checking in form, I was asked for a credit card (I don't own one) by an officious staff member. He was so insistent and stand offish, I was not made to feel welcome. The food and restaurant staff were brilliant on the other hand, so full marks to them.

Visited June 2024. A charming low-rise sea front hotel and restaurant literally ten metres away from the beach. Our first floor room had a lovely Juliette balcony that had a sea view albeit to one side, a large shower room and separate WC. The historic seafront of Juno beach is a stroll away as is the town. The restaurant really was superb with a fabulous À la carte menu. The food really is good. Only one night on our way home through the port but could have stayed longer.
