Very nice restaurant, very good food. We were planning on going to a pizzeria for dinner, but we’re disappointed to see it was closed. We drove around and finally found this nice little restaurant which was open for another 30 minutes. Our French is deplorable, so we were a little worried when we asked “parlez vous Anglais?” and the gentleman very quickly responded “Non!” But when we pathetically asked “Sept...” (and then promptly forgot any French word resembling “people”) he kindly said yes (or rather “oui”). Fortunately, the menu had English descriptions below the French. We struggled to order in French (again, quite pathetically) but the waiter never showed sign of frustration. With the aide of google translate I was finally able to say “je suis desolé pour notre mauvais francais” to which our waiter smiled and laughed. He was very friendly with our children, never showing annoyance with our sometimes too loud American kids, and brought them lollipops after their dessert. It ended up being a lovely evening, and we were happy the pizzeria ended up being closed. I had the dijonnaise galette (andouille, potatoes and mustard sauce in a buck wheat crèpe) and it was very good. My wife and two sons got the staek haché frais(basically hamburger patty) with fries and it was very tasty (though my wife wishes she had got the dijonnaise galette). My daughter and my mother got the poulet crème which was very nice as well. The Irish Crème sundae was delicious with whiskey and the Nutella crèpes were unsurprisingly delicious. Would highly recommend...
Read moreI visited Le Goeland with my teenage son, and we had an excellent meal. The steak in particular was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and supported us in our clumsy attempts at using French to order. We had a good laugh with the staff. Service was swift. I had a couple of beers with my meal which were also good. For the quality of the food, the cost was surprisingly reasonable, and the quantity of food was generous. The shrimp starter was almost a meal in itself. I'm not one to regularly post reviews, but myself and my son enjoyed the experience here so much I felt compelled...
Read moreWe had a fantastic meal at Le Goeland while on vacation this summer. We arrived without a reservation and the owner was very kind to squeeze us in. The staff were incredibly nice, for example, offering a booster seat to my five year old daughter and making sure our drinks and food arrived exactly as we wanted. The food was delicious. I had chicken with camembert sauce and house made fries. The sauce was really incredibly good. Overall the value for money is great, the ambiance is lovely (interesting clocks everywhere), and the staff a delight....
