SASÉSU — Restaurant in Caen

Note: I ended up not eating here. We sat down and after the service/attitude was absolute trash, we got up and left. I’d never spend my money on an establishment with service like this.

TLDR: Combination of misinformation from Google and attitude from worker and lack of professionalism from boss creates the perfect bad experience. Also, this viet restaurant can sometimes be out of pho randomly without warning.

Google said this place opens until 2330 when I checked around 1600. I assumed this place was open when I got there at 1842. Guy says they open at 1900 but if we want, we can go across the street (they have 2 stores) and we can eat now. Great, we go across the street but worker says no, you have to go across the street to eat, we only do take out. (Odd though because there chairs and tables with placemats everywhere but okay) We tell him 1st guy said to come here. He calls the 1st guy over there, presumably his boss, and hangs up and said sorry, you have to wait until 1900 and eat there.

Fine, we go back and wait, it’s 1846. 1st guy sees us sitting outside his restaurant and doesn’t even apologize for giving us the runaround. I’m annoyed at this point. A Vietnamese girl employee with bangs and glasses walks in around 1850. She starts getting tables ready with placemats. We’re sitting outside waiting for the restaurant to open. She puts a placemat in our table and I ask would it be okay to sit inside when the restaurant opens? She says yes.

It’s 1856 and the restaurant is empty; there’s probably 20 different tables and it’s a Monday night. We choose a larger table for the two of us that seats 4, I wanted to order appetizers and drinks, the table for two is so small. She says no, sit at the table for 2. Okay fine. We sit and we’re ready to order. My husband tells her we’re ready. No response. I turn around and she’s speaking in Vietnamese on her personal cell. I’m PISSED at this point. I turn around fully facing her as she’s talking and I scoot my chair out so she absolutely hears and knows. Boss walks right past me staring at me in the eyes too and ignores me. She hangs up and looks at me wide eyed, “we are not open yet you have to wait.” It’s 1859 at this point. I am livid.

She goes outside and sets the table for a party of 6 Vietnamese middle aged folks. They gab and she smiles. I’m staring at her through the glass window. She comes in at 1905 and asks okay, what would you like to order? I order pho. Her: “sorry we don’t have pho.” I done near imploded. You couldn’t have told me that you don’t have pho when you gave me the menu? This is a Vietnamese restaurant that’s advertising PHO on your WALLS. I tell her I need a minute to decide. She leaves. I tell my husband I don’t want to spend €0.01 here. We got up, thanked...

GROSSE DÉCEPTION

Aimant la cuisine asiatique je teste tous les restaurants asiatiques de Caen afin de donner un avis justifié. Je vais tout d'abord commencer par la disposition de la salle qui n'est pas conçues aux normes des consignes sanitaires actuelles. Les 1M50 entre chaque table ne sont pas respectées les tables sont agglutinées les unes sur les autres. La porte d'entrée claque tout le temps et les livreurs uber eat ne font que passer entre les clients pour les commandes à emporter ce qui rend le repas peu agréable. Les conditions d’hygiènes ne sont pas au rendez-vous, si les serveurs portent leur masques, ce n'est pas le cas des cuisiniers qui mettent leur masque sous la bouche sans gants ni tenue de cuisine. La qualité de la nourriture est mauvaise. Les quantités également. J'ai commandé un bo bun au bœuf. Je suis habituée peut importe le nombre le client qu'un bo bun mette du temps à se préparer ( environ 15 min ), j'ai été servie en 5 min, ce qui laisse deviner a quel point les plats sont envoyés bâclés. J'ai été sidérée de la présentation du Bo Bun. Les nems sont disposés en vrac sur le coté la salade également. J'ai été servie dans une assiette alors que cela doit être servi dans un bol, résultat la quantité était bien moindre. Pas de sauce a coté, obligée d'en demander . J'avais demandé sans coriandre ou tout autre épices et je me suis retrouvée avec du piment dans le bo bun, alors que c'est pas mentionné dans la liste d’ingrédients sur la carte. Les vermicelles sont bien plus épaisses ressemblant à des nouilles plus qu'autre chose, elle collaient entres elles, la salade sans aucun doute achetées en sachet avec un arrière gout très mauvais et pour couronner le tout la sauce n'avait aucun gout c'était littéralement de l'eau, j'avais l'impression de boire une soupe aucun gout fade mis à part le piment qui enflamme la bouche je n'avais vraiment pas l'impression de manger un Bo Bun mais un plat de piments . Je n'ai jamais goutté un bo bun si mauvais je ne l'ai pas finit. Je n'y retournerais pas ! Je ne vous recommande vraiment pas ce restaurant pour en avoir testé pleins d'autres je vous conseille le Changshou ou le Mian Mian des restaurants plus petits mais avec plus de qualités et quantités pour...

Well, to start with I will recommend this restaurant for its food as it nicely prepared and presented. The people in the kitchen did there job to the finest extent. But it would be better if you go for take away or home delivery. The staff doesn't seems to be very professional or well trained to handle customer (who doesn't know about the Vietnamese food) and also in sorting mix ups or communication fuzz. If they are not able to be up to mark with there coustmer they will prefer you to leave soon. NOTE: PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN STAFF IS CLEARING TABLE, THE PLATES COULD END UP ON YOU.
