La Petite Auberge — Restaurant in Cahors

First the positives. The starters were good and the waiters are very nice and tried to do their best, but the kitchen lets this place down. Three of us had the lamb and asked for it to be pink. It arrived blue bordering on uncooked, to the point that the garlic and herb butter just sat on top of the meat and didn’t melt. We sent it back and it came back a tiny bit warmer, but with no browning whatsoever, just looking gray… Those who had the duck found it undercooked but decided not to send it back. The kitchen was extremely slow at getting the food out. We had some teenagers who copped ok, but the long wait of over 1 hour between starters and mains was very hard for the children in the group, particularly as some of the children didn’t have starters so waited around 1.5 hours with no food. Overall we felt the €40 “Menu du Chef”was overpriced given its quality and extremely slow delivery and would not come back to this place. A real shame as the location is good and the staff were very friendly, but the main reason for our visit was the food which left us...

A very cosy restaurant with delicious local food and very friendly staff. We enjoyed every minute of the very friendly and attentive service. We can only reccomend this beautiful restaurant. For starters we had the Crème  brûlée de chorizo ibérique au safran et parmesan (fantastic treat!). For main dishes we chose Crumble de légumes à la tomme de brebis et noix de cajou (again an unexpected taste, very nice), the Assiette de La Petite Auberge (a mixed plate of all the delicious local products), the Salade fromagère de la bergerie des Coquelicots (a rich salad with a selection of great regional cheese) and the Filet de daurade mariné aux câpres et citron vert (fine taste and very good quality). We finished with Fondant au chocolat. We loved every bite of this...

Nous avons ete dîner lors de notre passage à Cahors dans ce restaurant. 5 étoiles parce qu'on ne peut clairement pas mettre plus.

Je me suis basée sur les avis positif pour réserver dans cet établissement et j'ai eu raison.

L'accueil et le service est super. Les gars sont très gentils, soucieux de savoir si vous passez un bon moment. Ils sont dynamique et on perçoit clairement la bonne ambiance entre eux. C'est très appréciable. (Pour les fumeurs il vous faudra demander a l'entourage si c'est OK pour eux. Sinon il faudra sortir de table et s'eloigner).

Nous avons pris un apero, une entrée, un plat et un dessert. Sur l'integralité des plats c'était vraiment un plaisir gustatif ! Tout est bon et semble frais et cuisiné. Le magret de canard est excellent, l'assiette de l'auberge est complete avec de bons produits (gros coup de cœur pour le samoussa à l'effiloché de canard). On n'attend pas 3 plombes entre les plats et cela est plutôt appréciable. La quantité est parfaite également. On s'est même dit que si on repasserai par Cahors on reviendrai dans cet établissement manger. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !
