Unfortunately after 12 years of visiting this restaurant at least 8 times a year,I find myself writing a bad review, which is a shame. Started 3 weeks ago ordered the usual nice ham and cheese omelette with chips always been very good. Came out as usual good timing and hot and a good size.what was off putting on this occasion was the fact the mayo served in a pot had a clear skin on it a very thick skin so this had been standing all day. I asked for a replacement and I had a normal quality one as to be expected. Why did they let this go out? I don’t know several others had been left on the table untouched. Was this simply one of these and not fresh? I don’t know. Anyway today a different story. Ordered the same as above came out sharp as ever, Looked down on my chips and a big twisty black hair. Too long for most things.but not long enough for others! This time I went for a cheese omelette, I don’t mind a wet omelette as it’s almost to be expected here and like a I say it has always been good. This was raw seriously raw to the point even I couldn’t eat it. Even used cheese slices in the omelette rather than good french cheese. The salad had some randoms In it making it very dubiously suspiciously wrong. Remember Ive eaten here for 12 years regular, this was not the normal quality. Even the bread roll which are always nice disintegrated as I tried to open it. It was very stale. The waiter tried to explain this was normal. I know it is not, tried to eat what I could, few minutes later the girl waitressing asked if all was ok I looked up and almost wretched. She asked if I was ok I said no this is bad. She took my plate away and asked if I wanted dessert. I asked for the bill hoping both she would recognise me from only a few days ago and know I was not just trying it on. She came with the full bill. Which I paid. What comes next is why I wrote this review, and I’m not happy or proud to write it but they need to know. I walk outside feeling not good, very painful twisted stomach. get to the Euro tunnel hour later then up she comes the full contents of what I just purchased. I was actually going to include a picture of what came up but don’t think it is appropriate.
I would of liked to of had a bit better understanding from the staff. As I weren’t just saying it was bad,
IT WAS BAD and seriously not the usual quality. I feel a bit ripped off , and I have to wash my new trainers. Guys I hope you can sort this out quickly before others have problems too. Please fix my favourite...

During our recent visit to Calais, we had an unfortunate dining experience at this place. Despite the positive reviews that initially drew us in, we encountered several issues that left us dissatisfied.
Service: The staff seemed dismissive and unhelpful towards us as tourists. They pretended not to understand English, which made communication difficult.
Food Quality: The food appeared to be reheated convenience meals rather than freshly prepared dishes. The quality was poor, and the side dishes barely edible.
Pricing: To make matters worse, the restaurant attempted to overcharge us, which added to the overall unpleasant experience.
After our visit, we took a closer look at the reviews and noticed that many appeared to be fake or misleading. We believe it's important for other tourists to be aware of this when considering dining options in the area.
While this was our personal experience and may not represent the restaurant's consistent standards, we feel compelled to share our honest feedback to help others make informed decisions. We recommend researching alternative dining options that have a proven track record of valuing their customers and providing high-quality service...
Read moreWe fancied a change from our usual Calais restaurants and chose to try Café de Paris, but unfortunately our visit was rather underwhelming. My partner's beef fondant was a nice piece of meat but he found the sauce very salty and the bread rather commercial-tasting. Again, my Bavette was a good quality steak and had been cooked medium as I had requested, but the Sauce Échalotte that the pleasant waitress had described was not a sauce at all but some very burnt pan fried sliced shallot dumped on top of the steak. The remaining oil in the pan was then just poured onto the plate, burnt bits included. Thankfully there was also a peppercorn sauce which I had not ordered, but which made the dish edible. It was such a shame as the meat had obviously been of good quality but I cannot understand the mentality of a chef who would present it to a customer like that, he is either not a trained chef or has completely stopped caring. He lets down his colleagues and the establishment....
