Mamma Lucia — Restaurant in Calvi

Absolute rubbish!

TLDR: Awful service. Missing ingredients on all orders. Uninspired recipes. Just avoid it.

I got my PC out to write this, that's how BAD this place is! So let's go over it quickly...

Waiter stuffed up my order (group of 6) bringing me the Mama Lucia salad instead of the Mama Lucia pizza... Ok honest mistake, even if I did have another different salad as an entree. However instead of taking it straight back, as I brought attention to it right away, she tells me it's my fault and that I can re-order my pizza, but that I'll be paying for the salad. Righto!

So I order it, thinking that I'll get it quickly and take my salad to go... An HOUR and fifteen minutes later, I still have no pizza... In between time everyone has realised that they're missing ingredients from their pizzas and what not.

On top of that, there's next, no service the whole night, no wine, no water, no bread, nada. I have to get up and go and request the wine. Wine comes, it's good, Corsican white, ca va. Still no bread, water, whatever...

Anyway, now I've given in and eaten my salad, but I want my pizza to go, I want to pay and I want out. My partner goes in to pay and let them know that the service was rubbish. Old girl "mess up the order" doubles down and finishes the evening with a good old French va te faire foutre...

Anyway the location is nice. But damn! Go...

Meine Frau und Ich waren gestern hier Essen. Ich hatte das Menü für 22,50 €. Meine Frau hatte eine Pizza bestellt. Der Keller kam sofort zu uns und begrüßte uns total nett. Wir bestellten und kurz darauf kamen schon die Getränke. Der Vorspeisen Teller war mit verschiedenen leckeren korsischen Schinken belegt. Dazu gab es ein Stück Butter und Brot. Dann kam die Pizza und meine Lasagne. Pizza super lecker und groß genug um Satt zu werden. Lasagne etwas klein aber geschmacklich und für den Preis der Hammer. Der Kellner brachte uns noch einen Gefäß mit Olivenöl in der chilli eingelegt war an den Tisch. Dieser war nicht sehr scharf aber perfekt um den Geschmack abzurunden. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür. Anschließend gab es noch ein Stück selbstgemachten saftige und & fluffigen Kastanien Kuchen mit einem seperaten Klecks Schlagsahne, der von der Mutter des Inhabers täglich mehrfach gebacken wird (erzählte uns der Kellner) und so schmeckte er auch. Wie von Mutti gebacken. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend mit leckerem Essen, super netten Kellner und einem lecken Ipa Bier (das müsst ihr probieren) der Hammer. Wir haben zusammen 44 € ausgegeben und 5 €Trinkgeld gegeben. Absolut ok. Das Trinkgeld wird hier unter den Beschäftigten aufgeteilt. Finde ich fair. Also, nichts wie hin...

Food was great. Pizza and Pasta were „Italian-good“. Pasta was fresh and home-made. Dessert was a surprisingly big portion and also really good. Also not expensive, meaning very good value for the money. Family-style atmosphere and service. Would totally recommend for a lunch stop. Added benefit today was: nice spot to eat outside...
