The restaurant has a great location with a lovely view of Lac Bourget. There is a small free public parking across the restaurant. We could not reserve a table unless one gets here before 12.30 pm. There were 6 of us, we arrived at 12.40 pm. The restaurant was pretty full especially on the terrasse. They got us seated pretty quickly. The disposable menu on the table said to indicate any allergies at the time of order which I did before ordering to find out exactly what I could or could not eat. The dishes took a fair bit of time to be served. Unfortunately when I took the first bite, I tasted butter. I passed the spoonful around the table all confirmed if had butter though i specifically mentioned my lactose allergy and chose a lactose free dish. I couldn't get the waiter's attention hence I brought the dish into the restaurant and asked to see the chef. I was informed by the person at the bar counter that I should have specified my allergy at the time of order which I did. He said there wasn't any butter as the fish fillet was fried in oil. I told him to check with the chef and returned to my table The waiter returned and informed me that the pan used to cook the fish had butter but the chef didn't use any butter to cook my my dish. He also informed me that they would replace my dish and ensure that the pan used didn't have any butter. Food was delicious a small complain about the Iberia pork dish was a wee small but was delicious. The scallop risotto was good so was the seafood platter. The fries were delicious! I give it a 4 star for the food and ambiance. Overall bill for six and a bottle of white wine came up to 156 euro. There is live music every Friday...
Read moreUpdate: The establishment's response was to blatantly ignore the images I posted and call me a liar about everything I posted... that's the kind of place this is. I'll certainly not be returning now and given one can't see how food service is handled behind closed doors - I'd recommend you don't either.
I edited this review to change the cost back to Euros as the establishment used this conversion factor further evidence of me lying.
Please note: this review is for the week after Christmas. I can only imagine, access, service, availability and cost only go down as the weather warms and I can't imagine in August....
After walking in, we needed to search for assistance where it appeared only one girl was handling the entire restaurant wait staff. Upon asking for the wifi password, we were given a throwaway answer which after checking for validity in real time (something I highly suggest you do in France) we were told she'd ask her colleague for the password. Even after following up, she never did. There appears to be 1 bathroom for all genders... the wait line was always 7 people deep. Once the hot chocolate we ordered was served, we actually got what tasted of watery yoohoo... for EUR5 each... in sum, I'd not recommend this place at all except...
Bref.
