I’ve been to Bord’eau 2 years ago with a friend, we had a fantastic experience. However our most recent experience was far from fantastic. To start with , we had the brioche which was dark as night and the unpleasant burnt taste was clearly visible on the table next to us as well . The tuna was delightful but the beef was far from over, literally had to chew for an hour and the same was the case for the beef main course. The dessert was on point which was the highlight of the night but we only wished the service (minus the female waiter who was lovely )was better.I don’t think at any restaurant, it is appreciated when the waiter makes jokes and laughs when they think the customer doesn’t understand french ( which we did understand) when taking the orders and not willing to introduce what wine is being served and one would think you pair the right wine for beef . Judging by the owner’s comments to the previous reviews from other customers with low reviews, we hope you can take this review in a positive way so that all customers enjoy the...

The food was fantastic, the price was amazing. Just had one experience that put a damper on the evening. We thought the pricing scheme was great. 47 Euro for two courses. 57 Euro for three courses. I would go there again.

We had a problem with the wine. We ordered a pretty expensive bottle of wine (it cost close to the rest of the meal). Our waiter came to the table to open the wine, but somehow broke the cork. He was angry with himself, but went and got another bottle, but this cork was bad too, and broke. He took the bottle away from the table to extract the cork, and then was upset with me, when I told him I would not accept that wine. Maybe I was in the wrong, but I have never gone to a restaurant where this happened.

He did bring a third bottle of wine out, and this time was able to get it opened, but it is probably a good thing I do not speak French, because I do not want to know what he was saying as he opened the wine. Please comment and let me know if I was wrong for insisting on an unopened bottle of wine be brought...

What was supposed to be a final evening celebrating our anniversary in the beautiful city of Colmar, it was met with such disappointment. Reservation details requested outdoor seating, but understand this may not always be accommodated. However, not one member of their staff acknowledged our anniversary, which is a first. Staff not friendly from the first contact, and order taken within 5 minutes of sitting down. What was truly shocking was that our meals were delivered within minutes of orders placed that I sat there in disbelief. This validates food prepared in advance and appeared it sat for a period of time. When wine was poured, it was so fast, I was concerned it was going to spill. I could go on and on, but was hoping to make it a long evening. Unfortunately, it was cut short and apparent they wanted it this way. It was so odd we couldn’t wait to...

Wow. We had not expected food and service at this high level, well above other restaurants we have recently enjoyed. We were previously in this location when it was the 2-star JY's, which has since moved and they turned this location into a spin-off. However, clearly the bar is set in the Michelin realm. The duck foie gras was sublime. Pictures show the fish with gnocchi, splendid by all accounts and the magret de canard, which was superb--perfectly selected duck, perfectly cooked, with a wonderful classic sauce with a hint of spice and orange, We rarely order dessert, but were glad we tried them here; true masterpieces from the pastry chef. And beautiful to look at, as you can see. This is a "must visit again" dining experience.
