Colmar is a wonderful town. And there are countless dining options. We did some research and chose this restaurant for our first night in town. We made a reservation several weeks before. Which was a good thing, since they had to turn away several guests that night. Our English Bulldog was welcome here as well, which was very nice of them. The menu in this Michelin restaurant is compact, but has something for every taste. It's modern french cuisine I'd say. We ordered a glass of local Riesling with our starters. There was a complementary Amuse-Bouche. A kind of cream-puff, but savoury with a creamy, cheesy filling. A really tasty appetizer. For starters we chose the Galantine duck and foie gras and trout carpaccio. Both fantastic choices. Wonderful duck and foie gras (mi-cuit), matched the Riesling perfectly. And the trout (pink/orange) was better quality-wise than most salmon in any other restaurants we know. High quality, fresh, highly enjoyable. For the mains we ordered the Veal shank confit and the Milk-fed lamb shoulder. Both excellent dishes. A bottle of red with that . I know duck confit, but veal confit (72 hours) was new to me. What a tender, juicy piece of meat. Actually: Piece of art! And the sauce...heaven! Confit is something you need to try. And this place here would be perfect for that. But also the lamb was wonderful. Equally tender, very smooth and with a rich sauce. You wouldn't even know it's lamb taste-wise, it was just perfect. There wasn't any room for desserts after this rich meal. A really fantastic dinner in a wonderful restaurant with a classic and cosy setting. It was pretty packed, so the staff was pretty busy. But they were quick and attentive, just didn't really have time for a quick chat or so. Price-wise it was fair. Around 150 Euros for two glasses of white, a bottle of red, two starters and two mains. For this quality? I would actually even say more than fair. A great place.

Good example of a place where things initially go wrong but ultimately end up really ok. We reserved well in advance, thinking the place would be really popular due to the listing in the Michelin guide. We sat outside, after a rainshower and loved the vibe; not too busy compared to the touristy town nearby. We noticed soon enough that the place inside was busy and outside was hard to manage for the 2 staff (…). Menu was in all honesty a bit limited, 3 starters and 3 mains. Wine list looked comprehensive and interesting. But we were let down initially by the service. A bread basket was slammed down on the table, dishes were not explained and wine was not offered despite several requests. Only after complaining did something change and a big change it was too: we were treated like royalty. And the food; amazing. Especially the veal shank but also the spelt risotto, in one word fantastic. The gin baba as dessert was also outstanding. Well done to the team for recovering. We ended up leaving very happy.

We made reservations an hour before arriving. It has a warm feel to it, the staff is helpful and friendly. The menu has a few options which is great. I had the poultry and foie gras pie with pickled vegetables and my bf had the mushroom risotto (starter). The risotto was oh so creamy, I think we both regretted not having it at a main. The poultry and foie gras pie was great, the meat and the terrine melted together beautifully. The main was for my bf and me the same, which was the veal in a creamy saus with cantarelle, veal juice and a creamy potatoe underneath. The veal was cooked perfect and was easy to cut, if not just fall apart when poking it and it was glazed deliciously, all with all perfect, but there was no room for a cheese platter after. Oh they don't have Coca Cola, or any other soda. They have wines, we would suggest any wine from Emile Beyer.

We went there today to eat with high expectation . Instead everything is so disappointing starting from wait staff to the food. The waiter ask as if we speak english or french before giving us the menu book and we told him english but he still gave us the French menu. It took a long time for them to take our orders. We were the first ones to go in and they serve other tables first. It took a long time for the food to arrived. The food are just average, nothing special. They should remove the michelin 2021 sign outside. Plus while we were eating peacefully there another customer came to out table and harass us with her “water closet issue.” She came to our table and started shouting at us in French, and we didn’t even understand a word of what was coming out from her mouth. She doesn’t have the right to come and harass us because we are paying customer like her. And the waitstaff didn’t even do anything about it instead I saw them laughing. And the manager have the nerve to say it didn’t happened. IT HAPPENED, ASK YOUR WAIT STAFF. This is what I’m saying that they didn’t do anything to protect their paying customers. My advise is stay away from this restaurant if you want to feel safe while peacefully eating your food. Take your money someplace else. If I could only give a 0 star review for this restaurant I would gladly do it. Addendum: This is in response to the manager’s reponse: We were eating there peacefully and minding our own business and your other customer accosted us with her issue with the water closet. She started shouting at us. She has no right to do that. And where was your wait staff while she was shouting at us? Nowhere to be found. She thinks that we are Asian we are just gonna sit back and let her shout at us? Well she chose the wrong table to pick a fight because We won’t back down! There’s racial discrimination involved here! Just because she is French and we are Asian she think she can just come to our table and start shouting at us ? She has no manners at all. If she has complaints she should do it the proper way. She should have ask for the manager and address her complaints to you and not go to the other customers table and start shouting at the other customers. Your wait staff didn’t know the whole story coz they’re nowhere to be found at the start of...
