Café Marguerite — Restaurant in Digne-les-Bains

We had such a lovely experience at Café Marguerite! The atmosphere was charming and relaxed — perfect for a summer evening. I ordered the vegetarian toasted wrap & salad, which was packed with flavor: roasted eggplants, apples, and feta made a surprisingly fresh combo, and the wrap was toasty and well-stuffed. The accompanying salad with shredded carrots and sunflower/pumpkin seeds added great texture and balance.

We also tried the hummous with raw veggies, which was homemade, rich, and creamy, and went perfectly with the fresh carrot and zucchini sticks. The hot sandwich with coppa and brie had great depth and was nicely grilled.

Such a relaxed patio in the evening sun with view to passing crowd and sunlit cliffs behind Moustieres. I had a delicious tomato and basil tart with an excellent salad - but there were several original veggie offerings, still rare in this part of the world (unless it’s traditional burrata and tomato, croton de chèvre or Marguerite pizza), and meatier choices for my partner.
