Gaudineto — Restaurant in Digne-les-Bains

Only go to this place if you want to be disrespected and treated aggressively. Have to say, have never experienced anything like that in my life.

Went inside and asked for the menu as i wanted to be seated to get some food. The server (woman in her 30’s, dark brown hair) replied to me: “ Didn’t you see it’s outside?”. So I went outside I chose what I wanted, came back in and asked if I can order some food. Now the bartender was present, so she took the menu and told me to follow her. I told her that I already know what I want & that I don’t need a menu. She told me: “Choose a seat” with a laugh. I sat down at the only table available in the shadow & she told me mockingly :”hah, this is not gonna work you have to reseat yourself”. This whole time she was extremely loud and people who were dining were turning around. I felt disrespected, so I said:”I’m sorry this is not gonna work” & I started walking out. She started laughing very loudly & screamed at my while I was walking out: « Bienvenue en France, bon voyage ».

I decided to return after & asked for the manager when she decided to laugh at me again & yet I maintained on my point that I need to raise it to management.

Such a shame to have people who are in their mature age to act like that. I am in my early twenties and would never allow myself acting like that.

The food my wife and I had were not as good as this place seemed to appear to visitors. The female server seemed to be kind, anyway, we were the only customers while other cafes and restaurants were filled by some visitors. We were so shocked after the first bite of the salad and linguine(pasta). The vegetable was not fresh and fried nuggets ( I believe that it was a duck but it seemed so dry and smelly. It's probably been fried 3 or 4 times before the server presented this salad to the customer. At last, we stopped to take food after 3 or 4 bites and ended to paid 36 euros. Don’t go here. Avoid. The waitress was so uniquely rude that it left a terrible taste in our mouths for the entire experience. Us being paying customers were clearly disturbing her ! She had a such a bad attitude that it ruined this place for us. While we didn’t catch her name, she had dark brown/black hair and was apparently from Biarritz. She should learn how to interact professionally with customers before being allowed to serve. We will absolutely never go back here and we advise others to dine elsewhere in the many other places nearby with much...
