We had reserved a table for 1230. We were seated and shown a set lunch menu by the waiter. When we asked about the degustation menu, we were informed it takes 2 hours. We get the feeling that the waiter seem to be discouraging us and mentioned that they will close before we may have time to enjoy the experience. They strongly recommended the set lunch. We had the set lunch with cod as the main instead of the chicken breast. There was way too much salt, so much that I can’t taste the cod flavour or freshness. It tasted like brined cod leaving just a salty taste. Eaten with the garnishing, it was not enough to balance the taste as it still leaves my mouth coated in salt. I’ll rate the main course sub- standard and not deserving a Michelin star. The appetiser of sliced duck was good. The only positive experience, I must say was with their fig dessert. It blew our minds. It got full marks from us, in terms of both presentation and taste, a perfectly...
Read moreEvery dish was in his own way perfect. Each component matches each other. Unique and interesting taste. Cook I guess like Japanese kitchen and everything has little bit Japanese components. When they served Kareaage, even toothpick was Japanese. Definitely cook deserves Michelin Star. Unfortunately and again very unfortunately (it’s second time in Dijon) I am facing perfect restaurant and very bad service. Arrogant waiter… Another thing is sound of the dishwasher during dinner. Very nice and high level atmosphere. Prices are quite high, but you know why you are paying, just need to admit that there was only one compliment from kitchen, not typical for Michelin Star restaurants. Nice experience, I will come back one day (Hopefully service will be improved).

Read moreThe tasting menu is absolutely stunning and beyond expectations. Classic but with a little twist that makes each composition memorable. You discover the different plates as you go, and there is no bad surprise. Unfortunately, the sommelier ruins the experience. Since it is a surprise menu, he plays a key role in pairing the wine. I gave him a generous 100 euros budget for a bottle. The only thing he managed to match was the price limit of the bottle (98 euros), but the well crafted, somewhat academic wine was totally overpowered by the food. Short finish, lack of minerality. Moreover, it came to cold at the beginning to become lukewarm at the end of the 2 hours experience. No coolers! Cheap standard wine glasses for table wine. It is impossible to appreciate a complexer nose with this shape of glass. At l'Asperule food is terrific value for money. Wine is just the...
