Restaurant Z'Océane — Restaurant in District of Dax

What a total disappointment. We tried this restaurant on the last night of our stay in the area based on the reviews it had received, however what we experienced could not have been further from what we read and can only be described as truly awful and one of the worst meals we have eaten. We ordered the calamari to start which was obviously straight out of the freezer, I had mussels which were just about passable (with frozen fries) my husband had scallops and belly pork which was basically scallops with slices of bacon, the vegetables were all over cooked and mushy and it looked like it had been thrown on the plate - I have eaten better canteen food! There was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant, you had to go up to the counter at the end to pay (much like you would in a canteen) and the only half decent thing was the service which was 'okay' at best. We could not wait to get out of there. There are far better restaurants in the area and we will definitely NOT be returning...

We (3 Girls) had been at this nice restaurant today. We all had the see bass. Two of us ate it with fries one with tge original serves risotto. The fish was served perfect on point. I haven't eat such a good fish for ages. The fries/risotto were also so delicious. Because of the perfect cooked meal we decided to order desert also. We ordered profiterole. It was served with vanilla ice cream and cream. We ordered one plate for 3 of us and it was way enough. The desert was also perfect. The vanilla ice was made with real vanilla 😋. Just delicious.

We definitely 👍 ❤ can recommend this restaurant. For us it is the best one in town..

Also a big thanks for the perfect service (amuse geulle, always a full bottle of water on the table, smiling waitresses...)

Cuisine très bien, bonne, frais, nous aurions apprécié des frites « maison » ou plus rustiques (surgelées là). Le menu adulte est copieux et frais. Le menu enfant très bien il a été ravi, surtout avec la crêpe et le chocolat maison. « Petit » gros bémol sur le service : nous avons moyennement apprécié le temps d’attente pour la prise de commande avec SURTOUT comme réponse d’une serveuse « On s’occupe d’abord de nos petits réservés » car nous n’avions pas réservé… on s’est sentit du coup à l’écart comme un peu pestiférés… Cela « pourrait » peut-être se comprendre mais ça se dit pas et surtout pas comme ça!! Et sur ce ton!!! On a failli partir d’ailleurs au vu du temps d’attente et de la manière dont ça a été dit. D’accord on n’a pas réservé mais on est des clients quand même et on paye comme tout le monde… Ou le dire dès le départ du style d’accord on a de la place mais il y aura de l’entente, on privilégie les réservations, je sais pas mais pas comme ça! Ou encore pas prendre sans réservation si c’est dérangeant… Heureusement qu’une (autre) gentille jeune serveuse a rattrapé le coup et a été super avec nous sinon on aurait quitté le restaurant et mis 1 étoile. Pour la cuisine on pourrait revenir mais pour l’accueil non ce qui...
