Le Marcotton — Restaurant in Dole

We were three English only speakers hoping for lunch and after checking a number of places which weren’t doing food during the off season we chanced upon this great place! Two of us had the daily three course menu which was very reasonably priced, and the local Jura wine which was delicious. The three course meal was celery soup with bone marrow, local tartiflette called morbiflette and pana cotta which all got rave reviews, for €17. The Jura white was very full bodied and aged in oak barrels for three years - they took the time to properly explain it to us! I’m a dairy-free vegetarian which is difficult in France, and when we asked if there was anything like salad or bread I could eat, they very generously offered to make an egg and potato salad just for me which was delicious - so very kind of them! We showed up late one Sunday evening, starving. They said "sorry, we only have Mont D'or." We were delighted. The bar was raucous with a women's rugby team celebrating victory. Bar des plus sympathiques dans lequel j’ai l’habitude de me rendre quand je vais à Arbois et dans lequel j’ai convié des amis pour passer la soiree le week-end dernier. Un serveur a ouvert la trappe devant l’entrée du bar pour changer les fûts sans regarder si des gens etaient à côté… Mon ami est tombé et a pu se rattraper tant bien que mal à la plaque, mais la chute lui a couté 2 cotes (cassées) et un hématome plus important que le boulard du serveur qui n’a meme pris le temps d’aider mon ami et s’est simplement contenté de gueuler « faut regarder où tu marches »… sans commentaires… Heureusement pour lui que mon ami a un bullshit job derriere un ordinateur à Red Mountain sinon il aurait eu besoin d’un arret de travail et nous aurions pu demander des sanctions au bar… Donc, voila, petit message sanction parce qu’il faut vraiment faire gaffe à cette trappe (3m de fond en plus), sinon je pense que vous aurez des problemes plus grave que celui-la un jour.
