Canopy — Restaurant in Draguignan

Not a great dining experience last night, lovely surroundings with great views into the Gulf of St.Tropez however during our 2nd sitting slot which was at 21:30 as the 18:30 slot was far too early. We ordered the £85 beef fillet to share and were told that we are lucky as its the last one. Fantastic .. the food started to rollout some 20 mins later which was fine how ever the fillet came and was rare even though we ordered medium. The steak went back and another 15 mins later the truffle mash, fries and sweet potato mash and vegetables were all cold, I requested replacements so they took away the sides and returned 5 mins later to say the sides couldn't be replaced as the kitchen was closed but then didn't give us the cold sides back so we litterally had just the now perfectly cooked fillet !!!! the waiter turned on his heels and left after saying there was nothing he could do ?? I requested to speak to the manager who agreed this wasn't right and that he would sort it, he reheated our sides and brought it back to us to finish the meal, he was very apologetic and removed £35 off the £200 bill. The lack of care from the other waiters and waitresses let the evening down the fact the kitchen closed some 25 mins after arriving also let's the place down. If the staff don't want to be there after 22:00 fine but don't have a late sitting at 21:30. I'm sure that if we went again we wouldn't have these issues .. we'll see, the rest of the...

This place has amazing view, beautiful interior design and they had live musicians playing really good!

However my wife had birthday on that day and I've asked the manager to prepared sth at the end of the dinner (dessert with some small candle), they said of course that is not a problem, but they totally forgot it... 🙁 not only that, but also first took them 40min to bring the menu and then rushed us to finish as they needed the table for another seating at 21:30. Additionally I had to ask twice to bring drinks for the kids which were part of the menu and similarly ask to bring dessert.

If the staff would be a bit more organized then it would be a 5 star experience. all waiters seems to be running all the time somewhere and whenever you ask for sth it seems you are getting in their way of doing sth else. You leave with this unpleasant feeling of being both rushed...

We had a nice evening at Canopy, the food was good, nothing life changing but well made. The drinks could have been better, we had mojitos and it was soda with some sugar, not a lot of taste so maybe the bartender needs to up the love given to the drinks. That said, the best thing here is the service, from the very moment you step into the restaurant everyone seems ready to help you have a great night. Attentive, fast, engaging and respectful, always with a smile. We came early on Latin night and got to see the band rehearse but not to see them play, but the Latin playlist was nice, and at a very pleasant volume. It’s on a rooftop terrace overlooking the sea but somehow not too breezy, just a very nice view. Tastely decorated, good choice for a night...
