La Olla Restaurant Tapas — Restaurant in Draguignan

We visited this restaurant for dinner whilst on holiday. The first waitress was dismissive and immediately spoke in English even though she had been addressed in French. She took us to our table which was just by the road. The seating was nice as the music covered the noise from the road. When we ordered a bottle of wine, we asked the waitress which was the driest rosé, she said all of them but having lived in Spain, we knew that the Spanish rosé would be sweet. When I mentioned this she said she'd go and check and when she came back, she said we were right. The service was very slow and a lot of the time staff were sat chatting or were going outside to chat or smoke. The food was average. We had the calamari which was rubbery so I wouldn't recommend them. The patatas bravas were ok and the tortilla, the prawns and the croquetas were good. The churros were hard so I wouldn't recommend them. We had to wait around 10 minutes to pay even though there was hardly anyone left in the restaurant. Overall, it was an average meal. La Olla. A Kitchen Disaster Saved Only by the Service

Sorry for my nasty but honest review

The only reason this is not a one star is because of the two amazing people handling the service that day. They were helpful polite and genuinely trying to make things right. Full respect to them

Now the food was a disaster

The entrecôte was pure rubber. The chef should go back to school to relearn how not to mess up a simple piece of meat

Na moje veliko razočaranje nisam imao sreće sa ovim restoranom. Izgled i sama atmosfera u restoranu je odlična, fina lagana muzika, lepa dekoracija enterijera sve kako treba. Osoblje je bilo ljubazno i korektno. Predjelo je bilo na zadovoljavajućem nivou i nismo dugo čekali chorizo kobasice dobrog kvaliteta ali kuvar ih je prepekao tako da su bile gorkog ukusa usled prevelikog pečenja, gambas i kroketi dobrog ukusa i kvaliteta. Na glavno jelo čekali smo 40 minuta što je i napomenuto da prilikom porudžbine Paëlla se duže čeka. Nakon što smo dobili jela porcije su bile velike i zadovoljavajuće i sva jela su bila dobra osim secreto iberico koje sam želeo da moji prijatelji probaju jer nikad nisu imali prilike da jedu. Zahvaljujući kuvaru koji se sagoreo meso, secreto je imao ukus na pregorelu slaninu što svakako nije njegov pravi ukus, ne mogu da vam opišem koliko sam razočaran u kuvara koji je veoma dobro i kvalitetno parče mesa pregoreo na roštilju. Nisam mogao da reklamiram jer sam podelio svima po jedno parče mojim prijateljima da probaju i na kraju ništa nije ostalo kao dokaz za reklamaciju, a kuvar je vešto prilikom stavljanja mesa na tanjir pregorenu stranu okrenuo na dole u tanjiru kako ne bismo primetili a onu drugu manje pregorenu sa gornje strane. Nakon glavnog jela poručili smo desert i čekali 20 minuta, ali desert nismo dobili. Platio sam račun i napustio lokal. Ne mogu da verujem da za 20 minuta nisu uspeli da pripreme i serviraju desert, takođe je veoma očigledno da kuvar ima problema sa rukovanjem na roštilju i da mu često meso zagori kao kobasice i secreto. Mogu sa punim pravom da komentarišem špansku kuhinju jer sam živeo u Španiji i poznat mi je ukus njihove kuhinje. Ovaj restoran koristi kvalitetne namirnice ali očigledno loše kuvare.
