I always wrestle with how to express my views on a restaurant that is barely average, or worse, below average. It can sound harsh and judgemental and I can sometimes wonder if I’m being too tough. But in this case I think average would be generous, in view of the experience we had today.
Which is a shame, as the setting is quite lovely. Service was ok, except they forgot our coffees (but they were still on the bill when I got it!), and the house wine was acceptable. However, in view of the prices, the food did not make the grade. The giblets on my salad were barely cooked, while my duck main was a bit over cooked.
My partner seemed happy with her choices, but if you took away the lettuce salads on all the dishes, serves were pretty average size. We had actually chosen the set menu at €26.50 each. I have had much better for less everywhere else on our current trip in France.
I had not read the other Trip Advisor reviews on this establishment before we went there. I wished I had as they do give a pretty good overview of what to...
Read moreA wet Saturday in Rocamadour. We picked this restaurant and were pleased with our choice. First impression, the decor, which is bright and clean and stylish (other restaurants appeared dark and gloomy). There is a terrace for outdoor dining with a view, unfortunately, the weather was dreadful so we ate inside.
The staff are polite and pleasant, there was plentiful choices on the menu and the food was tasty and well presented.
Lastly, the price was right - not cheap but certainly not expensive for what we...
