One of the Worst Service Experiences I’ve Had. Disappointing Visit to De Laura, Mougins today on a public holiday.
I always had high hopes for De Laura and this is my third time here over course of 2 years. And today I had guests with me from Valence and given its location in charming Mougins, I thought this would be a great evening. But unfortunately, our experience was completely overshadowed by the appalling service.
To start, there was no host to greet us upon arrival, despite having a reservation. It was the waitress who showed us to our table. That, unfortunately, was the last time we received any proactive attention.
We waited over 25 minutes without so much as a bottle of water, and had to call out to the waiter who ignored and then waited some more for the same waitress who sitted us to ask for something as basic as water and an ashtray. It felt like we were invisible. The staff seemed overwhelmed or uninterested, and the lack of organization was glaring.
The service was truly catastrophic, completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one in such a renowned area. The food has always been good here but I will be leaving with a bad taste today not from the food, but from the sheer frustration and disappointment.
There are far better places to enjoy your time and money in Mougins. If this is what De Laura has become then sadly, it is not...
Read moreVery nice ambiance just like their main restaurant in Cannes town center. We appreciate their detailed efforts for the plates and interiors. Service was very good as we were served by two happy and pleasant ladies. The bread and cheese served while waiting for the order were soooo delicious!
I had spaghetti bolognese and it was perfect! Unfortunately our other pasta order of gnocchi with wild boar meat was terrible. Our dessert tiramisu was a delight! I personally love it!
Ambiance and design of Laura's restaurant were really nice especially the 'library' area which reminds me of my house in Lecco Italy.
The place is more beautiful during summer where the outdoor sittings are properly designed and the terrace at the library is opened with that cozy chair and table overlooking a nice view!
I want to add how I appreciate even the very nice take away paper bag! I hope someone in the management is reading this to see how customers are appreciating what they have done and where they can also improve as I like this restaurant to keep prospering.

Arrivés à 19h10 , nous étions la seconde table à arriver (avant nous , un couple et leurs deux jeunes enfants, donc pas foule ). Nous prenons très rapidement la commande des boissons (compter 12€ minimum pour un verre de vin qui n'en vaut pas le prix ). Nous pensions prendre la commande des plats au même moment , mais là serveuse nous signale que c'est à la chef de salle qu'il faut s'adresser. Nous finissons par l'interpeller et les commandes sont prises (compter la aussi + de 30€ pour une simple assiette de pâte sauce tomate) . Et là l'attente commença. A 20h , donc 50 minutes après notre arrivée dans le restaurant, triste est de constater que nous n'avions toujours pas reçu les antipasti (nous avions commandé du pain con tomate , qui se prépare littéralement en 3 minutes chrono, temps de griller le pain compris) ,et le couple avec enfants arrivés avant nous , n'était lui même toujours pas servi ! Ayant une séance de cinéma qui commençait à 20h30 , nous avons fait le choix de partir sans rien n'avoir pu consommer (mis à part les 2 verre de vin pour 24€) avec la faim au ventre.
Lorsque l'on veut me facturer une simple assiette de pâte sauce tomate plus de 32€ , je m'attend à minima à un service exceptionnel et à une cuisine qui dépote. Mais là, que aucun plats ne soient en capacité de sortir de la cuisine avant 20h, je trouve ça vraiment scandaleux. Si j'étais dans une petite brasserie où le menu (entré+plat+dessert) me coûter moins qu'un foutue plat de gnocchis, je comprendrais qu'il puisse y avoir des problèmes de service parce que moins de personnels. Mais là, c'est inaudible venant d'un restaurant qui se veut de "standing" et qui rackette clairement ses clients...
