Oh dear!..where to start? I'm not often moved to write a review one way or the other, but this deserves a special mention. With the exception of Jerome (who was delightful and clearly not responsible for the garbage that emanated from the kitchen tonight, 24.2.25), this was the singularly most awful restaurant experience I've had in decades. Our Sole Meuniere (at €45 for 350gr as opposed to the 400gr at €50 which at 19h30 was suspiciously not available), tasted of literally nothing and had the texture of a rubber ball. In the main, the staff (with the above notable exception) were miserable and uninterested and gave the impression that they were doing you a massive favour just by being there. With one or two exceptions I'd say that they were actually rude. Given the generally positive reviews that I see online, I can only assume that the restaurant has either recently changed hands, or that I'm occupying another dimension. Something is definitely wrong. There certainly wasn't a professional chef or any member of staff (Jerome excepted), with any degree of professionalism in sight on the night, and the food was patently re-heated in the main. We went to this place several times over the past few years and it was ok. Something has changed. For the English speaking audience it was basically Fawlty Towers, but not in a funny way. Proceed with extreme caution and have low (or no)...
Read moreWas here in October 2023. Highly disappointing. The food was 3 out of 5 stars IF we exclude the price.
Summary: not the ex- Michelin star restaurant that one would expect. Food was not mind blowing (a Chinese restaurant would have been tastier), service was rushed which is not suitable for such institutions as our plate was cleared at least thrice before we were ready. Wine was mediocre at best (after a sommelier recommended those to us) despite charging 95EUR for 1 bottle of white and 65 EUR for a bottle of red). No explanation was given for each meal - I had no idea what the intention was, nor inspiration for the dish, nor tips on eating it. Environment/ Ambiente was excellent - as expected for an ex 2018 Michelin star establishment.
The food: The effort put into meals: out of a 7 course meal only 2 were partially tasty and one fully tasty but low effort - truffle risotto - standard but truffle enhanced the flavour. The duck cooked 2 ways (1 of which was very nicely done). A small praline was good (one of the desserts).
I had better Tapas in bars in Sevilla with more intense flavour and use of spices than in the entire evening at this establishment.
Bill: 567 EUR for 6 people + 40 EUR tip.
Disclaimer: apparently if the group is majority French speaking they do explain the dishes. I have not noticed such thing the day I was there on any of our neighbouring...

Decided to go anyway, despite all the bad comments on the food and the waiters, because after two kids and six years together, my husband and I wanted to give this place a try and celebrate our anniversary for once. Lady on the phone not friendly at all, nevermind, booked anyway for 9.45 pm (I usually eat at 8 pm, but we had no other option). We arrive at 9.50 pm thinking that we were late just to fing out there was an enormous queue of people who made our same reservation (9.45 pm). After 20 minutes of waiting in line, it was finally our turn and the receptionist told us that our table was not ready, so we stepped aside and waited again. After some time the lady finally lead us to our table that was in the middle of the room next to the cupboard where all the waiters threw knives and forks making an unbareable noise. I asked if this was the only table available and the lady said yes, just before finding out that a waiter was cleaning another table next to the railing. A waitress then served us some water not even looking at us and throwing the bottle on our table, and that’s when we decided to leave. The restaurant was quoted on the Michelin Guide but it absolutely does not deserve any quotation of any kind. Our night was ruined, in the end we didn’t eat anything and we will never return. Not...
