La Brasserie Des Artistes — Restaurant in Grasse

Disappointed 😔 Had lunch today at 12:45 PM and our food arrived at 1: 40 PM. They were prioritized customers who ordered the specialty of the day " Moules Frites Marinière", so even if the customers who came after us, they were served earlier. Good ambience but when I used the toilet, there was this mouldy odor in the hallway going to the toilet. I ordered Salade with foie gras and smoked duck but some of the salad greens are already wilted, they seem unwashed or unfiltered. My husband had the grilled octopus with rice and vegetables but the octopus were pan fried as there were no grill marks or traces of grilled bits. It was horribly hard to chew. Can't believe we waited almost one hour for such underrated food! Definitely not going back...

After reading the comments , I have a feeling that we were super unlucky tonight. Fries were completely burned, greasy - uneatable. Muscles were ok, but tiny. Baguette wasn’t fresh, cold and chewy ( seriously, we are in France!). Octopus was tasteless and full of oil, rice was full of oil or butter, I am not sure. We left hungry, disappointed and wasted 50€ on our dinner. Only positive note, waitress was helpful and friendly, helping us...

This place was recommended to us by a local. Fantastic food - between us we had we had moules frites, stuffed chicken, poached pair with salted caramel butter, fruit tart and panacotta. Service also excellent. Prices incredibly fair. And the place has bags of style. It is quite loud because it’s next to a roundabout, hence the four stars for atmosphere. But the rest makes up for it.
