Leedy's — Restaurant in Grasse

I don’t understand all the positive reviews for this restaurant, as my experience was the complete opposite.

We received a frosty reception from the host / manager(?) when asking for a table for two for dinner, but despite our better judgement we followed him to a table inside. Myself & my partner both felt this could be because we are English, despite me speaking only in French, as I watched him be far more receptive to all the other diners. Once sat at the table we waited for a considerable amount of time to even receive a drinks menu, adding to the feeling of not being welcome.

When our food arrived (I ordered the cod), there was a long, black hair baked into the cracker that came with the dish. I tried to pull it off but it was literally encased in the food. I told the waitress, and she took my meal away - leaving my boyfriend’s food on the table going cold while they sorted mine out. About 7 or 8 minutes later I received another plate - by which time my boyfriends food was freezing cold. My piece of cod was dry and over cooked, so I assume they just re-heated the original piece and re plated. The whole meal was bland and disappointing.

I have worked myself 15+ years in high end hospitality and I understand that these things happen, but the whole thing was dealt with so poorly. Barely an apology was received, which after already feeling completely unwelcome in the restaurant, left us wanting to pay and leave as soon as possible.

Had the staff been warm, friendly and apologetic then perhaps I could have overseen the issues with the food, but the whole thing was a total disappointment. We visit the area regularly as we have family there, and will never ever be returning to...

Les plats étaient divins, une décoration très chic, la soirée aurait pu être parfaite si le comportement de la serveuse ne nous avait pas refroidi notre moment.

Ce qui amène cet avis, c'est ce qui a été la goutte d'eau de trop :"l'addition"! Nous étions 4 adultes et une enfant. Je voulais offrir le repas de ma mère, c'était son anniversaire, c'était prévu depuis très longtemps. Donc naturellement nous avons dit à la serveuse que nous réglions séparément, malgré le fait qu'elle a insisté pour que ma soeur paie l'intégralité. Elle a fini par me demander ce que je payais, j'ai donc commencé à énumérer les choses que je voulais payer, elle m'a interrompu, a roulé des yeux et est parti chercher la calculatrice. Tout cela pour qu'au final on divise par 3 car elle ne souhaitait pas calculer alors que ce n'était pas convenu comme cela. Sachant que nous voulions tous partir du à l'ambiance qu'avait instauré cette serveuse, nous avons accepté mais même lors de la division de l'addition nous avons remarqué "ce je m'en foutisme du client". Nous avions une addition de 154,31 € (je crois), quand on divise par trois cela fait 51,436666. Donc logiquement si on arrondi, elle aurait dû nous informer que deux personnes pourraient payer 51,44 € et la dernière 51,43 €. Mais ça n'a pas été le cas elle nous a imposé 52€ chacun. C'est en encaissant la première personne qu'elle nous a dit, j'ai arrondi, 52€ c'est plus simple. Nous avons gardé notre calme, car on souhaitait que notre mère passe également une bonne fin de soirée. La serveuse ne disait rien, continuait de taper 52€, et peut-être que je me trompe mais son attitude montrait qu'elle souhaitait mettre 52€ au trois personnes qui réglaient. J'ai donc pris la calculatrice qui était posée sur la table et dont elle ne s'était en fait pas servi. J'ai moi-même dû informer la troisième personne le montant réel qu'elle devait payer.

Nous avons trouvé le comportement de cette serveuse inapproprié et inadapté à un contact client. Ce qui nous a "détruit" l'expérience positive...

Amazing experience at Leeds’s last night. Our taxi driver recommended this restaurant to us. We got there a little before opening time and the owner/manager was very welcoming and accommodating. They have a set menu that we ordered for 38 Euros that I highly recommend. The food was excellent and I had to take my dessert to go because I was so full. He was also very kind to share fried zucchini flowers from his garden with us.
