I am a humble food critic from Dublin and a Biot resident for twenty years. I always support the local restaurants. However, last nights experience in Les Acacia’s was one of the worst ever in terms of rudeness, attitude and food. I arrived and was met by the owner, a middle aged lady wearing funky glasses. The minute I asked her could I sit and eat she ate me alive. Didn’t I have a reservation. I didn’t but the place had plenty of free tables. She threw her arms I. The air very aggressively and led me to an empty seat. Then she plonked the huge chalkboard menu on my lap. Bad angle for reading I can assure you. The other guests were give bowls of tapenade and bread, I was not. I must add that I a very polite and patient person. I ordered the salad niçoise to start. It arrived like something you’d see at the end of a bin. A few tinned green beans and anchoviess thrown on top of a pile of leaves. Every time she came near my table she was rude. I ordered a pizza as a main course and I asked her very politely could it be cut to make it easier to tackle. Another hissyfit, arms in the air and lots of puffing and huffing. I can honestly say it was a nightmare experience. The pizza was almost inedible with a thick doughy base and a scrape of tomatoe on it with some cheap commercial chorizo slices cut in half. I was appalled by the food but even more by the attitude. There was one young blonde haired boy who was extremely polite unlike the owner. Is it really acceptable to be abused openly when paying for dinner? The answer is no. Only the brave and foolish...
Read moreExcellent french cuisine restaurant, definitely worth the price. You can choose anything and it will be a masterpiece (that is because the menu only has 10 meals that only change a little over time, so everything has been perfected over years to this point in time where you can enjoy it to the fullest 😉👍🩵) The lamb shank was big and nicely cooked, and the potatoes were homemade. The desserts also shine by the work put on them (Profiteroles and Crème brûlée were amazing 👌) Overall a really good adress The staff is really nice but it can be very crowded on certain nights so remember...
Read moreSuperb meal last weekend with three friends visiting. Top service all the way. We were advised to maybe share starters as they are quite big. They were and we did. Delicious. Variety of excellent main courses and tasty deserts. Super wine by the pichet from the Chateaux St Croix vineyard in Carces, Var. This is a winery I often visit myself so was delighted to get such good quality by the pichet. The people running the restaurant are really so nice. We had a...
