Xmas day and going for a drive through the holds around vote d'azur. Time was moving on, all was quiet and we arrived in Biot.|It's was 1:30 and like walking through a film set when you think you are the only survivors left on earth: not a person or sound! Really quite refreshing and nice way to see Biot!|Eventually when we were about to return to the car we could hear a small noise which become increasing pounder as we went down a quiet st. Only to realise the noise was of laughter and chat over food!|A small little hotel,( I think " douze" chambers if I remember right. Authentic real and rather threadbare but clearly this was the place to be and soon we to were shown to a table with beaming smiles large humour and warm welcoming to the pub/ L'Hotel/ restaurant.|A hand written menue( always a good sign!!), are order written on the tablecloth, an even better sign, and " Vigo" whose home it was placed himself firmly at our feet when we ordered capon and Lapin.|When asked about what sort of dog Vigo was... The surprised landlord said "its a pub",with raised eyebrow and twinkle in his eye! |The food was amazing, the atmosphere electric and the pricing fantastic. A wonderful surprise for...

Located in an old building in a medieval town, with great views, the hotel appears picturesque. The rooms are old, some with blistered ceilings that looked like they might peel at any moment. Some rooms smelled musty. The bathrooms were old-fashioned & lacked shower curtains. Our rooms lacked cold water delivery in the bidet, but the shower hot & cold water with good pressure. The most challenging aspect of the hotel was the steep winding stairs with no elevator. Nonetheless, inquiries about accessibility for persons with disabilities prior to our arrival were left unanswered. The hotel is closed between 3 & 6 pm, but can be accessed with a code. That said, taking luggage to the 2nd or 3rd floor during this time is entirely a do-it-yourself endeavour & challenge. The breakfast, which is included, is wonderful with fresh baguettes, croissants & good coffee & orange juice. Sabrina at the front desk & Brigitte who cleaned the rooms were extremely pleasant & helpful. Other staff members could be helpful & warmed up during our stay, but were rude & unpleasant at first. The price is per room &...

I have been going there for 10+ years, my favourite place in the area. The menu never changes. Amazing Provençal food, served in a rustic and generous style. Particularly like the red peppers and artichoke in the starters, and the potatoes are to die for. Service is slightly cocky but not too bad, they just talk a bit too much but that’s typical in south of France. And who cares the food is so good. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and like southern french food, enjoy!

I’m just talking about the restaurant here (I didn’t stay in the hotel). Les arcades is a typical Provençal restaurant in the charming village of Biot. Just visiting the village worth it if you want to feel the true vibe of the region. The food is really great, actually it’s like home, that serve you the soup in a huge plate. Nothing fancy here, just home cooked food from the region. The service is friendly. Only bad point: be careful you’ll have to walk to reach the village.

We arrived early for dinner, and got seated without booking though any later and we would not have been so fortunate as it seems always to be popular with locals, families and visitors. Traditional French menu choices, extremely well prepared and presented. Friendly staff and efficient service from the oldest restauant in Biot, with tables covering the approach to the beautiful old Church.
