SUMMARY - spectacular show, great food, impressive room, ok service, bad payment practices. Fun experience but would not go again. I´d say 50% or so clients were American because of the high cost (budget min $150 each, but prob nearer $250).
BOOKING/PLACEMENT - Book well ahead on their website. There are THREE main options, 1) Front stage - the table is around the stage in the center- 500EUR min spend, def not worth it IMHO, 2) Outdoor - 350EUR Min spend, not sure if that´s worth it, seems as if it would be away from the show (??), regular booking, no min spend. There's a 35EUR pp fee for the show which is well worth it imho. BUT, IMPORTANT, whatever you book, get the confirmation email or take a screenshot of what it's telling you - i.e. for MOST people the regular booking has no min spend, just the 35EUR pp fee. This is important (and FUN!) for later in this review.
TABLES - they put us in a VERY nice table kind of up in an elevated area. We didn´t book that so maybe they just had that available, our booking was for 11pm for 2 hours. Like I say, nice, but maybe would have been better down on the floor because they def want to get rid of you in that premium area at 1am or before if possible.
SHOW - spectacular, no other word for it. The production values were up to Vegas standards in terms of performers, lights, sound, stage switches and so on. Really very good. My only complaint was that it was a little TOO much - we go to a similar place in Barcelona where they do a big number every 20 minutes or so, so you get a chance to talk and eat, then watch a performance for 5 mins, then back to talking etc. Nothing like that here, it's go go go all the way. I would definitely advise less performances if any managers are reading.
FOOD - I've seen some bad reviews on this but honestly, I thought the food was some of the best we've had in Cannes, and actually in France. The steak was top quality, correctly cooked, nice crust with a smoky flavor. My tuna steak was excellent and thick. All sides were good. Wine was expensive ($110 min/bottle) but this is a high end place so that was ok. So again, food I thought was very very good.
BILL/END OF EVENING - this is where it gets funny (funny for us, but unpleasant for others so BEWARE). Comes to like nearly 1am, they start clearing tables etc because they want to bring in the high rollers for our table - that´s fine. The guy just suddenly comes up with a handheld billing device with 700EUR on it and claims we have a minimum. "No we don't" we say, "yes you do he says". Ok then how much did we spend - 650EUR he says (We did not). I'm enjoying myself at this point, because my wife is NOT having it, and I'm not going to hand over my credit card until he wises up, so my wife persists and I can see him starting to wobble. Wife says "Ok, go get the check then dude". He looks annoyed, clearly used to rolling people, and goes gets the check which is 445EUR, also admits he got it wrong, there's no min on our booking - we round up to 500EUR (normal in France around 10%). We were ready to get some champagne and a hookah but he suddenly produced a lit up menu where champagne had gone from 220EUR with dinner to 800EUR - haha. So, kind of rude and classless on their part, and apparently clients who want to spend 1000EUR on regular multiple visits is not something they seem to want. Odd imho.
CONCLUSION - if you´ve got this far, you have the perseverance to go to this place yourself. It's excellent, well worth the visit, but remember to have that booking screenshot on hand so that when they try to roll you, you can have fun with the whole thing. They can't bill your credit card unless you hand it over, and they can't impose a minimum if they don't specifically warn you first on the site, or by email, or even when they sit you down. So just refuse and smile until they realize you won't be pushed. No need to be nasty about it, but a smile and a simple "Non" will...
Read moreThis places is literally the most AWFUL place I have EVER been! Our experience here was beyond terrible. It was my hen do that we had flown all the way from the UK for which my girls had arranged as a surprise and the staff reduced to me to tears and ruined my one big hen do night out and nearly the whole trip. They tried to deny us entry because one of my friends had flat shoes on because she had a fractured foot and was told by her doctor she cannot wear heels. Yet we were all dressed up to the nines with our sparkly outfits, gorgeous heels and me stood there in my beautiful hen do outfit and veil, yet they looked at us as if we were utterly disgusting to them. We had to literally beg to be let it in and I feel so stupid that we did so and even wasted our time there. We spent the entire time (which was no more than say 40 minutes) feeling uncomfortable and threatened in there. The manager at the bar snatched the menu from my hands and was shouting and wagging his finger in my face saying “what do you want! We only offer these things. One gin, one wine, one vodka etc. NO COCKTAILS” (despite having just served the person next to me a cocktail!) when all I wanted was to see the prices given that one bottle of wine on the menu was €60k (which is ludicrous) so obvs I needed to know what the costs of things were. He did this to us twice. He was so rude his colleague looked at me with pity and if he was so embarrassed of his colleague (manager I think?) and rolled his eyes at the guy. He eventually asked the nasty guy to let him make us a drink instead (to be helpful) and to leave us alone. I asked for a Prosecco and they said no, we only do champagne which was €35 for one glass! (A price we didn’t even get told before having the card machine thrown at us) We ended up leaving because I got so upset and we ended the night early. I went home and cried because they had caused so much upset and discomfort to me and my little bride tribe. This place should he shut down as it’s hostile, aggressive, unwelcoming, rude and just all round VILE. I will tell everyone I know how horrific this place is and that they should never ever step foot in there. Such an awful way to treat anyone, let alone someone trying to celebrate such a special occasion in their life, like...
Read morePAY ATTENTION TO THE ONE STAR REVIEWS. they are not there for no reason! First of all, if you’re American do not even bother. We overheard the MANAGER talking bad about us in French to his coworker as if we couldn’t understand.
We waited 40 minutes for our drinks. The table next to us sat down AFTER we ordered our drinks and they got their drinks first. We actually watched the incompetent waiter deliver our drinks to their table and the customer looked confused and said he didn’t order that. (On top of this, they have a 2 hour dinner policy…. How tf are you going to say we need to finish one meal in 2 hours when it takes 40 minutes for a pornstar martini and a mojito)
After waiting 40 minutes for our drinks, we decided to leave. When we first arrived, we were starving and couldn’t wait to eat but the service was so horrible that we lost our appetites.
When we tried to leave, the manager was very passive aggressive and did nothing to rectify the situation. He insisted that we pay for our meal regardless if we left or not. The meal was 500 euros so we just said whatever and sat down and ate.
The food wasn’t that great especially for the price.
EVEN if the service and the food was spectacular, the show was horrible. We’ve been to moulin rouge and crazy horse in Paris and were expecting something similar… and what we saw was a complete joke.
This place is a disaster. Save your money and go elsewhere. We chose this place over baoli because of the “cabaret”, which ended up being just laughable.
Just to add to the cherry on top, it was HOT. No AC. When you’re paying minimum 200 euros per person to eat at an establishment, the least you could do is have AC?
It seems this place is for pretentious people who only care about Instagram pics and not actual good service. I’ll never be back and I’ll make sure everybody I know stays far away from this place when they visit the French Riviera. I really wish I could rate lower than 1 star.
After reading other reviews, it seems this place is prejudice against black people, which is interesting because they have no problem hiring black artists for...
