Discovered this restaurant on Sunday 1st September, and was blown away by the food! I had the lamb kebabs, with hummus and taboulé on the side. Everything was delicious - the lamb was beautifully cooked (pink and juicy), and the hummus was perfect. The service was a bit sloppy - we had to repeatedly ask for things. But the food made up for it. Having enjoyed it so much the first time, we returned a few days later (midweek), and I ordered the same dishes. How disappointing! Instead of 5 good pieces of lamb per stick, I got only 4. It was also overcooked and dry. Nothing like the previous visit. Also, this time the hummus tasted different. Less homemade. Definitely not as good. I didn't want to make a fuss, but said something at the end. I was offered coffee as a goodwill gesture, but to be honest, I wouldn't have ordered that anyway, so I turned it down. Such a pity that the quality standards are not kept the same when different staff are on duty in the kitchen. That's why you've received 3 stars, instead of the 5 that I would've awarded on the first visit (despite the...
Read moreRestaurant is nicely located near the waterfront. We were here during the summer for the Cannes media festival and opted to sit outside at the tents that is across from the main establishment. Service was efficient and friendly and I opted for a mint based cocktail which was refreshing and my wife who was suffering from a bout of cold ordered some hot honey tea which she really liked. We ordered the vegetarian mezze platter for 2 which consisted of an assortment of hot/cold usual suspects. I liked the dolmah and the pilaf rice the most and others were ok, nothing special. Dessert was an assortment of bite sized baklava which was decent. Next to the restaurant was some live music by some bands with people dancing away which really added to the fun vibes during the evening. Dinner was pleasant and relatively inexpensive and we had a nice walk on the...
Read moreA second visit to Byblos in Cannes, this time for dinner. We had lunch a few months ago and with a free evening decided to try the evening with friends. Firstly the staff were incredibly friendly which is always a great start. Even though a friend knew a lot about Lebanese food the waiter gave us a great description of the menu. He guided us through our choices and we ordered off the menu which isn’t at all cluttered. The warm evening meant we could eat on the terrace which is tastefully decorated. The food arrived in a timely manner with impeccable service. All the diners around us seemed equally pleased. All in all a fantastic experience, I recommend Byblos without any reservations. We will...
