The restaurant "La Rotonde" in Mandelieu-la-Napoule offers a culinary experience of the highest quality that will enchant your senses and take your taste buds to a new level. During my visit, I ate the "Kermesse aux poissons" menu, which was undoubtedly a highlight of my gastronomic travels.
The culinary adventure began with a delicate starter, a sea urchin from the Lérins Islands, accompanied by a velvety chestnut emulsion and perfectly candied lemons that added a refreshing touch.
The following course, an egg parfait with parsnip puree and grated bottarga, was a tribute to the complexity and sophistication of flavours. The smooth texture of the parfait harmonised wonderfully with the delicate sweetness of the parsnips and the salty hint of bottarga.
The saffron broth with spirulina foam offered a subtle flavour of exotic spices and an uplifting lightness that enlivened the palate and delighted the senses.
The lobster ravioli, served in a whisky flambéed carcass jus, was a true revelation. The delicate flavours of the lobster melded perfectly with the rich taste of the jus, which was given a caramelised nuance by the flambé.
The refreshing granité with mimosa provided a welcome break between courses, cleansing the palate with its light yet intense flavours.
The main course, a fish steak on demand with fresh vegetables, was a feast for the senses. The tenderness of the fish was emphasised by the perfect preparation, while the crunchy vegetables provided an ideal accompaniment.
To finish, the crispy goat's cheese dumpling with wakame seaweed spoilt us with a combination of salty and creamy textures that sent the palate on an unforgettable journey.
The homemade millefeuille with mimosa and citrus fruits rounded off the menu with a touch of sweetness and freshness that was the perfect end to an exceptional culinary experience.

You can actually see the Med but there are busy train tracks between. The restaurant is nicely appointed but has a relaxed feel and the two hosts make a point of being friendly and ensuring satisfaction with h the food. We had 3 of the more expensive fixed price menu and one from the lesser one plus a bottle of decent red wine and a glass of white. My wife's veal was a little over cooked but all other dishes were well presented and totally consumed. Total cost $185.
